Cadenhead‘s SLJD 1999
Roasted wood, sour cherry and a leathery, herbal-minty edge make this Saint Lucia Distillers '99 a heavy, concentrated pour. Bottled by Cadenhead's at a hefty 70.8%, it drinks oily and round despite the strength — tasters call it the best St. Lucia they've had, proof that good rum doesn't have to be old. One reviewer found it strange and a touch bitter too.
- Complex and round
- Well-integrated alcohol
- Roasted cherry depth

Heavy, complex, powerful, brute, concentrated. For me, the best St Lucia and a nice impression that good rum does not necessarily have to be old
