Review by Thunderbird
This Isautier surprises me... and in a very positive way! Despite the low ABV, it offers plenty of aromas of tart fruit, chocolate, spices and a little wood on the nose and palate. A really good sipper. The dilution has definitely been successful here
Review by Frank
Despite only 45%, this Isautier has a very beautiful, multi-layered bouquet. Nose: delicately spicy and pleasantly woody. In addition to the spice of nutmeg and caraway, it has a very soft sweetness of nougat and chocolate. There are also delicate fruity notes of gooseberry, blackcurrant and orange. Everything closes wonderfully with herbs and a fine eucalyptus note. 8,4 The impressions from the nose are similar on the palate: spicy and woody, with nutmeg and caraway, plus a slight peppery note. Clearly fruity, bitter orange peel with tart gooseberry. An impression of hay, saffron and a hint of eucalyptus at the back. It doesn't need a higher ABV and that is a sign of quality. 8,0

14.10.2018 Nice little get together with new rum friends. Notes. Medium dark colour. Nose: fresh, wood, orange, caramel, ginger, spice. Palate: fresh, round, spicy, wood, anise, ginger, citrus. Finish: medium long, round, vegetal, anise, light caramel.

Very interesting. Some rubber, tar, tea. Hardly any Agricole tones in the nose or palate. However, recognizable on the finish. The fruitiness gives way to dirty tones as the glass progresses. Not a world class rum but a nice experience.

Bon rhum vieux

Quite light compared to the Alfred and certainly compared to the Antoinette. This is the youngest of the three and it shows in comparison. For 94€ there are frankly far better rums to be had. That being said the flavor is well integrated and the mix of rhum traditionnel and agricole is generally successful, it’s just a bit expensive for what it is.
