Wood, fruits, earthy notes, and subtle spices create a balanced overall picture without any particularly striking accents. It is slightly bitter but pleasant to drink and crafted with skill, though in direct comparison with Agricoles in its price range, it lacks a bit of depth and complexity.

#5762 28.09.2025 Day two of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. This rum probably splits opinions out there. I think the price tag is Ok for what you get. The profile is a bit astringent yet fruity with nice spices and fruits.

Tasted this five year old AOC Agricole from Dillon during the Whisky Live Paris 2026. Overall it’s a rather aromatic, round, elegant and complex rum to be just five years old. It’s produced at the Depaz distillery in the Dillon stills from sugarcane harvested at the Dillon plots. The nose is sweet, spicy and fruity with scents of caramel, honey, vanilla, dried fruits and coconut. At the palate it’s smooth, warm, silky, spicy, woody, sweet and fruity with flavors brown sugar, orange, dried fruits and a hint of cocoa and tobacco. The finish is medium long.

A 3-year-old agricole rum, which has both the fiery side of a young rum and a wiser expression of an old rum. On one side, sugarcane, earthy notes and alcohol set the scene on the nose, then spicier, woody and fruity notes bring that classic agricole rum character. On the palate, it's both a dry and light rum. Notes of wood and coffee join a pleasant bitterness, arranged on a dark and softly spicy profile. The finish, of decent length, is quite lively and marked by notes of tobacco, spices, nuts and toast. The fruity side and caramel are very discreet. A typical old rum offering a nice entry-level for Dillon.
