#6757 07.05.2026 Running some samples after my final hike training before my half marathon on Saturday. Listeningn to some nice tracks by Armin van Buuren on Spotify. This is a pretty decend Bellevue, not top shelf, but still OK. Nice roasted wood with some coffee, caramel, spice, herbs and light tar and diesel. Needs to rest for a while to really open up.

A somewhat frustrating bottling from That Boutique-Y. This Bellevue nonetheless leaves a fine impression on the nose, a lovely fruitiness of dried apricots and tropical fruit marmalade accompanied by spices (nutmeg, clove, pepper, vanilla), wood, tobacco, sweet and herbal notes. At first, the profile is perfumed and inviting. Aeration gives it sweet notes of marshmallow. Once in the mouth, the rum loses its presence. The initially appealing aromas give way to a few dried fruits (grapes, prunes) and dates, as well as spicy, roasted, vegetal and bitter notes. Unfortunately, this is a bit of a cold shower for the taste buds. The alcohol is very present and unbalances the palate. The finish is quite long, bringing out the woody, vegetal and bitter notes described above. Spices, chocolate, leather and raisin only amplify the dry, harsh quality that limits the aromatic potential. A rum that unfortunately has too little to offer and cannot compete with other representatives of the house.
