Aroma visualization from community tastings
Lemon Hart & Son Original 1804
Neat it plays it straight — caramel, vanilla and a wood-and-walnut edge, with a bitterness some tasters flag and a body that runs light for a Demerara. Where it earns its keep is as a mixer: one reviewer called the butterscotch nose "the best part," and it puts real flavor into a punch. A bit dosed and short on depth, but a workable everyday Guyanese pour.
The community says- Great butterscotch nose
- But: Little depth
- But: Some bitterness

How does Lemon Hart & Son Original 1804 taste?
Aggregated from 19 community reviews.
Light, sweetish Demerara built for mixing Most see a decent, slightly sweet Demerara mixer with a great butterscotch nose but little depth. Fine in cocktails; underwhelming and a touch bitter sipped neat.

Rich and round. Relatively high level of sweetness. Roasted almonds and cinnamon with a touch of maple on the palate.

This one has neither the abrasive burnt tones of Skipper demerara nor the smoothness and roundness of the El Dorado expressions. It’s a good cocktail rum for a relatively neutral demerara taste (but do you really want that?) but kind of hard to recommend given the options.
Review by Tom Buteneers
Bought is as a mixer when I was trying to find a 151 Demerara (but that’s close to impossible over here) Neat it’s very straight forward, but has no depth or complexity in the flavor. Useable mixer, but not convincing.

Has of course something of Demerara... strong memories of the engine room in the ship - diesel and heavy oil... who likes it... theoretically good replacement to the Pusser's in Painkiller... but does not fit at all ...
