A nice profile but the reduction maybe makes it a bit too light. The finish is very light on the spices. Maybe an easy gateway to Caroni.

#6802 16.05.2026 Enjoying a few samples after getting back from a gruelling 20 km hike with my wife. Watching the end of todays Giro d'Italia stage. This is a watered down Caroni with a smoky touch and then of course the typical Caroni notes. The palate is dry and spicy.

... Caroni is a distillery from Trinidad, producing at its peak a rum that was added in a ratio of 1:10 to the naval blend. It was too strong and strange to be pleasant on the tongue. In 2000 the distillery stopped production and was closed. Only in 2010 did tasters appear who liked the rum precisely for its special taste. And interest grew. Caroni belongs to the category of rums "you need to try before you die." I recommend it, Caroni is truly a unique rum.
