Funny thing about this one: the nose throws solvent, glue and varnish at you, but the taste does a U-turn into sweet candy. Expect vanilla, caramel, milk chocolate and a little orange peel, with almond and marzipan notes a few tasters caught. The sweetness reads slightly artificial, and the 43% alcohol pokes through more than you'd expect. A short, easy finish.

Sweet, candied sipper with surprising heat Most find it an easy, sweet sipper with chocolate and vanilla, but the candied sweetness reads artificial and the alcohol feels louder than 43% should. Pleasant, not deep.

Absolut nichtssagenden in der Nase. Daher kommt der ganze angenehme (wenn auch etwas künstliche) Geschmack von Mandel und Marzipan umso überraschender. Den trinkt man sehr schön nebenher.

Original impressions from 2017 rum calendar. Nose: ** Taste: *** Overall: ** ”43% Costa Rica.” Quite stingy on the nose with varnish on top of the dried fruits I can sense underneath. The taste is the total opposite; very sweet with candied notes. Milk chocolate, vanilla and some faint orange peel notes in the aftertaste. Nice sipper.

In der Nase sehr viel Klebstoff, der aber leicht verfliegt und sich im Geschmack nicht so sehr widerspiegelt. Im Geschmack karamellig und rund. Süß aber nicht zu süß.

Ein spannender Rum, der in der Nase etwas Lösungsmittel und Klebstoff ausprägt. Im Geschmack überwiegend Frucht und Süße. Sicher nicht der facettenreichste Rum. Im Abgang kurz und schmerzlos. Nicht unangenehm und durchaus trinkbar. Für den Preis in Ordnung. Nicht mehr, nicht weniger.
