I was very lucky today. I stumbled upon this extremely rare bottle when picking up my latest samples and bottles. I was allowed to buy a sample, it set me back 90,- euro, but I didn't regret it. One of the best rums I have sampled in the last 30+ years. The nose is there from the start, a wonderful fruity, smoky vanilla mix. The palate was one og the most well balanced i have ever had, not too much or too little of anything. Wow, just wow. The finish lingers on what seems like forever...... 5 generations and 130+ years and this is what you get, PERFECTION!
Flor de Cana waren mir bislang eher als unspektakuläre einfache Rum bekannt, die auch schon mal eine Dosage enthielten oder stark verdünnt sind. Insofern war meine Erwartung nicht allzu hoch. Und ich wurde auch nicht enttäuscht..angesichts des Preises und des dargebotenen… das ist hier auch nichts.. das ganze ist recht eindimensional und mehr auf der Fassseite mit ein paar Gewürzen und vielleicht noch etwas Schokolade..sorry, dass ist mir deitlich zu wenig
