Epic Velier Caroni Tasting: das Cola-Monster! Sowohl an der Nase als auch am Gaumen deutliche Cola-Noten. Dazu noch die typische Caroni-DNA. Gefällt mir ausgezeichnet!

Per fortuna ho un campione di riserva ed una bottiglia intera, ma forse quella non la aprirò mai, o forse con il tempo cambierò idea, comunque era meglio quando costavano il giusto, ai giorni d’oggi e’ troppo, ma troppo davvero. Al naso e’ molto complesso, profumato e tanto equilibrato. Al bicchiere ha un bel colore ed e’ molto viscoso. La gradazione non eccessiva lo aiuta molto, credo che sia perfetta per la complessità del prodotto poiché l’invecchiamento la fa abbastanza da padrone. Molte note al naso sono quelle della distilleria con dei sentori che in altre bevute non ho riscontrato. Al palato e’ molto piacevole con tutte le note della distilleria con invecchiamento tropicale, con la differenza di note un po’ diverse, diciamo dolciastre ed acide insieme. Con il tempo si apre sia al naso ed al palato con qualche nota erbacea ed il classico catramato che le contraddistingue. Piccola nota e’ il tannino, si sente e pure abbastanza incisivo, l’invecchiamento si sente tutto, a chi piace diciamo che va bene, mentre se non piace potrebbe disturbare abbastanza. Convlusione: tipico dei primi rilasci di queste serie, o li ami o li odi. A mio parere e’ molto complesso e bilanciato e andrebbe gustato con calma e tempo e magari in più occasioni. La nota dolce/acida per me gli da un tocco diverso!

Epic Velier Caroni Tasting 2023: In der Nase auffällig ausgeprägte Noten von Cola, davon abgesehen trifft hier HTR auf dezente Gebäcknoten und frische Zitrusaromen tropischer Früchte. Am Gaumen treten die typischen Teer- und auch Gumminoten voll in den Vordergrund, wobei auch hier die tropischen Früchte neben den karamellig-vanilligen Süssenoten im Abgang erkennbar bleiben. Ein toller Caroni, der geschmacklich einige neue Aromenkombinationen aufzubieten hat (Cola!) und damit eigenständig unterwegs ist.

Un nez d’atelier mécanique et de fruits tropicaux terriblement équilibré (si on peut dire ça). Un nez qui donne envie d’aller plus loin aussitôt. Les fruits tropicaux sont aussi à égalité avec les fruits jaunes. L’entrée de bouche propose un peu menthol. Puis fruits, notes herbacées, atelier mécanique, tout arrive en même temps. Un arrière goût comme sucré, intrigant… de cola. Oui comme dans Coca-Cola ! La finale est fraîche, sur les fruits avec un petit côté givré. Le verre vide offre des marqueurs Caroni assez marqués et toujours un léger Cola.

Yesterday we had a great evening in my friends man-cave. Lots of laughter and wonderful rums. This one was a bit too dominant on the oak in the end of the palate and especially in the finish.
