An aroma spectacle ala Grand Arome from Savanna. Fruity and astringent, the typical strawberry yoghurt note is conspicuous here in the fruity aroma universe. This Savanna is simply wonderfully palatable, astringent, mouth-filling, crazy... What a board of flavors and elegant at the same time, which I rarely find with GA. Outstanding! Before I forget: the alcohol is perfectly integrated.

Sehr gelungener Savanna mit typischem Grand Arôme Charakter. In der Nase vergorene Früchte, Ester und eine feine Lösungsmittelnote, die von Zitruszeste und Kräutern ergänzt wird. Am Gaumen kraftvoll und vielschichtig mit intensiver Frucht, würzigem Holz und einer feinen Süße. Der lange Abgang verbindet Frische, Würze und Frucht auf eindrucksvolle Weise. Ein ausdrucksstarker Rum, der den Savanna Stil hervorragend widerspiegelt.

This one was my favourite and it has a nice menthol touch to it from nose to finish. The nose is very nice and fruity with tobacco and menthol. I do pick up a light wooden note as well. The palate is lightly sweet and bitter with fruit and menthol. In the back i pick up oak, caramel, marzipan and tobacco. The finish is long and fruity with leather, oak and menthol.

👃 Note élégante et fruitée sur de la fraise bien mûre, du Malabar Tutti Frutti, des cerises au marasquin, appuyée par de la menthe fraîche. Les esters sont bien présents et jouent le rôle de porte étendard. Ils viennent supporter d'une part les fruits tropicaux bien mûrs (papaye, ananas, banane cochon) et d'autre part une certaine salinité (ces petites olives vertes du traiteur). Quelques épices viennent titiller les narines telles que du piment doux et du poivre vert. Cela devient gourmand aussi sur un fin caramel légèrement beurré, de la crème catalane et la vanille bourbon. Je trouve une note de solvant et de vernis à ongles qui vient booster ce nez raffiné. Une belle concentration d'arômes funky. La note mûre et "bonbon" sur les fruits rouges me semble plus présente que sur d'autres GA. 😋 La fraîcheur et le pep's sont caractérisés par l'ananas Victoria bien mûr rôti dans la casserole ainsi que par les fraises du jardin recouvertent de sucre, de citron et de menthe. On retrouve cette particularité du bonbon arlequin légèrement acidulé. Les 56.4% sont très bien intégrés. Puis, des épices vives, pimentées, poivres rouges, baies roses. J'ai aussi un côté racineux sur des dés de gingembres confits. Je distingue du chocolat noir 60% accompagné d'un fin boisé, sur le cèdre peut-être, voir sur la sève de conifères.. Une bouche sans note d'olive, très fruitée et épicée, qui joue la carte des saveurs d'une confiserie foraine. ⛳ Longue, sur une brunoise de fruits exotiques confits (ananas, papaye, mangue) et du piment d'Espelette. Puis, à mesure que cet aspect diminue, la finale devient légèrement asséchante et amère sur le zeste de combawa que l'on aurait aspergé de sel rose et de cacao. On termine sur la chaleur persistante d'un cigare tiré en pleine nuit d'été. Un GA classique dans le bon sens du terme, fruité, équilibré, très buvable, belle intensité et fraîcheur. Niveau complexité, bien qu'il soit suffisamment funky dans l'expression de ses arômes, je n'ai pas autant retrouver le côté étagé d'un Chronicles ou d'un GES. Excellent comme un Madras, ce qui est déjà extra 🤩

Savanna Grand Arôme as we like it. The nose is loaded with chemical notes reminiscent of harlequin candies, with opulent fruitiness on overripe tropical fruits (banana, pineapple, mango) and red fruits (strawberry). The woodiness melts into the background, giving way to notes of caramel, olive, glue, solvents and varnish that add depth. It's as complex as it is concentrated in aroma. On the palate, the funkiness combines very well with the sweetness of the juice. The fruit is full-bodied, very ripe and exotic (mango, pineapple, banana and strawberry). Strangely enough, bitter, vegetal notes play spoilsport and counterbalance the profile. Olive, tobacco and spices are welcome to bolster the palate. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is very long, more vegetal and bitter. Leather and tannins take center stage alongside fruit, oak and spice. A final impression that diversifies the overall profile. A superb Savanna in the Grand Arôme style, very complete and elaborate.

First time I've put my nose in this unicorn... and what a bomb! Magnificent rum, on which you can feel the great aroma but with a magical balance of fruit, wood and slight bitterness. Magnificent.

Glue, solvent and olive are on top of everything whether on the nose or the palate. The past tropical fruits are well present. The alcohol is perfectly integrated and the length endless. An ester bomb!

Nez : léger alcoolique. Grosse prédominance de cuberdon / framboises confites / confiseries. Un fond de saumure / d’olive qui reste là. Fruits tropicaux (surtout ananas) trop mûre. Bois patiné, léger solvant. Bouche : alcool présent. Boisé ressort un peu plus en première bouche puis on a les fruits qui débarquent avec toujours ce côté bonbon (cuberdon) et les fruits tropicaux (ananas à fond) plus marqués qu’au nez. Une mini amertume liée au bois qui s’y ajoute. Pas trop d’olive en bouche je trouve alors qu’on l’avait au nez. 87/100

My first Savanna Grand Arome. Has similarities to unaged HERR, but this is definitely more aged. Strong Tobacco notes in the end. Would be great with a cigar if I smoked.

Retour sur ce savanna que j'ai goûté après un hennesey pour me préparer. Côté très trame tatin mais plutôt avec de la mangue et de la banane au nez je me régale. Des petits bon bonbons acidulés aussi. En bouche plus de solvants/chimique qui arrivent et une légère astingeance/amertume qui vient du bois. Nez au dessus de la bouche... j'ai préféré etang sec. Un cote bubble gum au nez et aussi le fumé qui persiste le plus longtemps en finale
