8,7:On the nose, the first impression we get, is an agricole rhum, that's dry, a bit astringent, with red fruits as grapes, raspberries... and herbal with tea notes. The next layer is woody/roasted with dried fruits, prunes, medicinal(metallic and smoky), toasted notes and milk chocolate. The rhum becomes spicy, is now fresh, flowery and round, elegant. When we air it, the touch of orange peel joins the game and caramelized candied nuts, vanilla and a pinch of cinammon. Tropical fruits are mildly present with passion fruit... Rich and complex rhum. 8,7:On the palate, round, syrupy, quite sweet and balanced rhum is waiting, first with spicy/pepper and dry attack, a bit waxy, with banana, tea, grass, cocoa, leather. . Agricole with medicinal notes are quite noticable. Prunes, raspberries are juicy, the wood is toasted, roasted and caramelized with toffee, warm...and a touch of bitterness. Very complex. 8,4:The finish is long and dry, some spiciness is here, dominated with dried, tropical fruits, medicinal, nicely balanced with toasted, roasted palate, chocolate, caramel, vanilla and tobacco... Good 12-year-old Agricole that offers everything you could wish for despite the low %. The grassy notes are discreetly restrained here. Extremely round and balanced overall, I would strongly recommend it to beginners as an Agricole starter. Unfortunately not quite cheap.

This Agricole reminds me very much of the older Agricoles from Saint James with approx. 45% ABV. The aromas of light spice and woodiness, as well as leather, are almost identical. And I like that very much! A successful bottling, but just a little too expensive in comparison

A blend from Maison La Mauny that brings out the best of its Vintage and origins. The nose is intense and complex despite the low alcohol content. You can detect a beautiful compote of fruits with tropical fruits, red fruits, orange, and prune that coat the nostrils. Roasted wood and spicy aromas joyfully mingle in a dance with the sweetness of confit and caramel. It's a delicate, round rum yet very expressive in terms of aromas. The palate starts with some agricultural notes quickly overtaken by roasted wood, dark chocolate, tobacco, and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, pepper). There's a honeyed side combined with the spices that's quite pleasant. Tropical fruits return with banana, orange, and also prune notes for an extra touch of indulgence and sweetness. Even though the alcohol is at a low level, you can really feel all the complexity and subtlety of the aromas on the palate, which is very appreciable. The finish is well-made, elegant, slightly tannic but always balanced. Tobacco, leather, herbs, roasted oak, spices, exotic fruits, and the honeyed notes of gingerbread blend perfectly to give a harmonious finish. A very fine representative of Maison La Mauny that effectively fights the clichés of the "pretty decanter" and low alcohol level.

Very agricultural nose. Dominant woodiness, citrus zest, oak. Light prunes. The alcohol seems light, too. On the palate, everything explodes at once. Wood, cooked, zest, pepper. Very delicate and balanced. I only had two small cl in my glass. I think I'd need more to explore this rum further. Medium-long finish on which leather finally gives way to delicate vanilla. Superb. Beautiful intensity for a rum with such a light ABV.

Edit: unfortunately the first bottle is now empty. But nothing has changed in my opinion, I think it's a great rum for beginners as well as for nerds. For the low ABV, what it delivers is in a class of its own. For me, it's one of the highlights of this range, and I'm really glad that I got myself a second bottle. I always enjoy drinking it now and again.

Nice gentle agricole with dark, earthy & chocolate notes paired with typical grassiness and wood. Yummy palate and well integrated with some wood spices towards the end. Nothing overly exciting, but good sipper and entry to agricoles.

Found in the sample box Starts very fruity with berries on the nose before the wood becomes more prominent. Very balanced taste on the palate. It sips very nicely also because of the relatively light 41%. Nice, surprisingly good Agricole, thanks to zabo for the sample.

A great Rhum with high potential. A little bit higher ABV would’ve catapulted this drop into the 9.0 range. Nevertheless highly recommend, if available at a decent price.

Very mineral and quite not indulgent, I find a thread of grain whisky throughout the tasting stages. It's interesting but I expected something much rounder and warmer given the age. Fresh cane and floral aromas largely dominate the fruit and pastry notes. Nice length on a dry grain whisky thread.
