Tasted blind right at the start of a lineup. Luckily, because this rum is very smooth. No problem guessing that it's an agricole from Martinique, close to St James. Overall, it's pleasant. Lacks craziness and depth. Maybe nice as an aperitif.

A young VSOP rum with a fairly classic agricole profile. The notes of sugar cane combine with spices, a slight smoky woodiness and some more subtle fruity aromas. On the palate, the attack is soft and controlled. You can feel notes of hay, nuts and caramel that complete a very conventional palate. The dilution of the alcohol is noticeable, which is a pity. The finish, quite average, leaves a profile that is floral, dry and spicy, which is a bit more abrupt than the rest of the tasting. It's not a bad rum, but there are other VSOP rums that offer much more on the nose and palate, for a similar price.

This rhum is fine-pearled and oily in the glass, smells of plums, somewhat woody and slightly of licorice with a hint of baking powder. The taste has something chocolaty, something of cappuccino and cognac with a woody note. The finish is long, dry with a metallic note, sometimes intense.
