Blind tasting of two samples that Master-P sent me as a bonus, thanks for that 😍 Tasted at EC Prague-Hamburg. Sample 2: Nose: fruity, sweet-spicy. Gooseberry and lime, tending towards orangey, so kumquat. Also somewhat artificially sweet-sour lemon peel or dish soap without the soapy note. Slightly in the low-ester direction of a Monymusk. But it's too artificial... interesting anyway, just a bit too artificial. 7.8 Palate: somewhat watery, seems to be reduced. Again this very artificial sweet-sour lemon peel taste, gets a slight touch towards yogurt, and a slight caramelized sugar note. Similarities to a Jamaica blend from old times. Definitely blended. Seems around 40%. 7.4

Well-made entry-level sipper. Not spectacular, but solid. Could possibly be slightly, but not too much, sweetened. I could imagine it working well in a cocktail too. And if this blend really only costs 30 EUR, then you truly can't go wrong buying it. Thanks to MasterP for the sample!

Balthasar Rum Blend is a blend from three Caribbean islands: Jamaica, Barbados, and Guyana. I was very surprised, smell and taste are very appealingly fruity and woody. The price of 30€ is really great and I took 3 bottles with me. A really easy-drinking rum for in between. ABV is only 40% but the aromas come through very well. Of course, it's all a matter of taste, definitely worth a try + Foursquare is also included😍

Very good blend! Probably a bit sweetened. Reminds me a lot of the old Caribbean Blend from rum Artesanal.
