On the nose quite restrained and fresh! Alcohol is clearly noticeable! On the palate initially a slight alcoholic tingling, but that immediately gives way to burnt wood. Somehow it tastes a bit dirty and fatty! The woody note remains in the aftertaste! Interesting rum, but not my thing!

Well, normally I'm a big fanboy of TheRumCask releases, but this spark didn't really ignite with this rum. Either my sample was too old or Jens missed the mark with the cask.

Classic Port Mourant in the nose. No oak. Just spirit. Dry, light and crisp. Strangely not much alcohol burn. Not unpleasant but also a bit underwelming. Good example of a very naked spirit.

Nose: Alcohol, apple, caramel, and wood. Palate: The alcohol is also clearly in the foreground on the palate. Apple pies turn into dark chocolate, it becomes woody and bitter. Finish: Woody, chocolate, and bitter. Conclusion: Quite alcoholic, not very complex, but with a long-lasting, bitter finish. It can be more harmonious.

As a Guyana fan, I have to say, nope, that was nothing! The nose is still quite nice, with citrus fruits, apples, slightly metallic-musty, with anise and this buttery note. The palate doesn't please me, very sharp alcoholic. No trace of fruit anymore, only burnt wood, bitter and a bit of chocolate. At least it warms you up well.
