Most who've tasted this old Trois Rivières land in the same place: a lovely, gentle relic with one small flaw nobody can quite name. Ripe tropical fruit, coconut, a touch of butter biscuit and soft wood, faintly sweet without any sugar. One taster nearly called it Armagnac blind. The knock is intensity — it fades early and stays quiet through the sip.

A mix of hints of moist wood,tropical fruits and berries! It is balanced and pleasant! Its only flaws are the intensity and persistence that are lacking throughout the tasting! Rums of yesteryear that no longer exist!

On the nose, I would almost blindly guess Armagnac. Very thin on the palate at first, then lots of wood, some plum, but unfortunately also a slight off-note.

I wish I had bought a few bottles when I tasted this one because the price has gone through the roof. Notes : Complex Balanced Fruits Wood Nutty Honey Additional note "lovely colour and curtains in the glass".

Thanks Egon for the sample. Until now I hadn't had such an old Trois in the glass. On the nose nice fruits, somewhat sweet with coconut and a slight butter cookie note. On the palate also fresh fruits, slightly sweetish. Something is still there that bothers me a bit. Unfortunately, I can't say what it is.
