22.08.2009 This resort as many others on Sanya Beach is wonderful and we had a few tastings in this area. This particular evening was special with people from all over the world. Notes. Light in colour. Nose: wood, plum, caramel and light leather. Palate: wood, raisin, licorice, anise and light roasted notes. Finish: medium long with roasted wood, herbs, licorice and dried fruit.

... Old Velier Demerara rums are the best you can taste in the rum world. Rums aged rather accidentally for several years in the tropics and nobody topped up the cask contents. The angel's share was 90% or more, which is why the taste is especially full and intense. Even though it's an extra expensive affair, I recommend trying a rum from this series at least once in your life.
