I have recently started buying Samaroli because I like what the whisky barrels do to their rums. This one is no exception as their eis a clearly defined whisky and malt note to it. Slightly dry and lightly bitter with vanilla. I'd say this one is for a serious rum drinker like me :-)

Old wood, drawer bottoms, grandma's coffee grinder - that's the first impression. It's an immediate trip back in time! White pepper, herbs, vinegar and a hint of dried fruit (perhaps apricot) come through with a little aeration. Once again, insane complexity. On the palate, it's a complete meal: volcanic rock minerality, oregano, spices, pear and pepper. Are we around the barbecue cooking pizza? Surely. It's a little confusing, but very cool. Very long, very complex finish, mixtures of oregano and pepper, on a background of old wood. Enormous.
