Oak, vanilla and a lift of citrus over clear cane-juice greenness — a classic Martinique agricole that plays it soft and easy rather than loud. Tasters find white chocolate, caramel and dried fruit with the usual Bally salty edge. Well made and very drinkable, though several call it "too simple" and wish for more voltage than the 43% gives.

06.09.2025 Retasting with 5 of the local guys and I really like it. ---------- A rather mild Agricole but still an Agricole nonetheless. Nice touch of oak and fruit with vanilla and caramel. There is a nice warmth on the palate but would have liked a higher ABV.

#1745 20-03-2026 - Rate 3.6 Our club bought a agricole set from Kevin. To challenge our selves. We usually don’t drink much agricole. Have some few favorits (Savanna, Bellevue and most Haiti) We are not fans of this one. Sorry for the low rating, but we really don’t like it. Nice to be challenged and to try something different

Classic Agricole, nougat, sweet dried fruits, spices, nuts, wood, light vegetal-floral aromas. Pleasant to drink and a rum of impeccable quality, very drinkable, but unfortunately without a wow effect.

Bottle almost finished: the very woody and bitter side is no longer as prominent (perhaps a little cold that disturbed my previous attempts), in the end it's quite pleasant with a certain depth and a titration that makes it easy to appreciate. I often suggest it to novices who visit me :) 2nd tasting: After half a bottle, so quite a bit of oxidation: on the palate, the woodiness and medicinal aspect make it rather average. It's even a little too bitter for my taste. 1st tasting: Better than I expected. Lacks liveliness, however.

A more flavorful and aromatic Bally than its 2005 counterpart. The nose is pleasant, carried by fruity, vegetal, floral, earthy notes with tobacco, wood, leather and spices. The rum is smooth, easy to drink but aromatic in the mouth. The finish is moderately long on the same tones. A nice Bally that could be even better with more voltage.

A rather nice agricole. But as an opener for a big tasting. I appreciated its easy side, a woodiness leaning towards caramel and vanilla. It's not a rum that's too much, but it's good not to always be in the hard stuff!

Agricole meeting and tasting with Kevin in Blåvand. To start off, we had this candidate. Very mild and approachable, with very nice agricole notes first on the nose, confirmed on the palate with notes of vanilla and vegetal-herbal influences. A nice sipper!

Light and sugared nose and you can instantly tell it’s an agricole. On the mouth there is again sugar and white chocolate. There is too much vegetal to be really great for my palatte but the sugar works well and the finish is really on the soft side which is enjoyable. Solid Agricole but a little bit limited

Completely different profile, lots of citrus both in the nose and on the palate, then the finish goes towards white chocolate with citrus zest and salted caramel. Delicious! But not quite as complex as the 2003.

Bally 2002 – 43% Let's move on to Bally's vintage range, traditionally presented in the square bottle. The range is reduced to 43%, with no other indication than the vintage. Here, 2002 indicates a rum aged at least 6 years (AOC requirement). Information gathered at the stand: rum aged 7 years in cask, which makes it an excellent comparison with the 7 years Pyramide tasted just before. Nose: very fruity. Palate: more pronounced wood, fruits still present. This vintage version offers more complexity and depth than the non-vintage version.

Rather aggressive on the nose with notes of honey, grass, and ethanol. Soft on the palate with sour apple, panela, and dulce de leche. Really quite tasty, but leaning deeper into burnt sugar notes than many agricoles.

08/03/2026: Brussels Rhum Festival @ Tour & Taxis. I like the flavours that are presented, but it's rather mild and thin on the palate. A higher ABV might improve it a lot. Nevertheless, it's a classic profile and very tasty.
