Chairman‘s Reserve Master‘s Selection (K&L Wines) 2011
The surprise here is the switch: the nose is a fruit basket — lemon zest, green apple, peach, dried fruit — then the palate turns dry and herbaceous, with tea, flowers, toasted oak and spice taking over. A few tasters loved the contrast; others felt the fruit got buried and wished for more depth. Single-cask Saint Lucia at 54%, warm but well-integrated.
- Fruity, lively nose
- Toasted oak spice
- Well-integrated 54%

19.12.2020 Nice tasting shortly before Christmas in a private area of the bar. Unfortunately this very old bar closed down in 2023. Notes Dark in colour. Nose Intense, wood, tannins, vegetal, herbs, floral, light caramel. Palate Warm and intense, wood, roasted, banana, citrus, light mint, leather. Finish Medium to long, wood, medicinal, light chocolate, herbs.

Usual solid Chairmans.

Quite broad spectrum of flavors, but without the extreme expressions, which for me make the appeal of the best St. Lucia bottlings. Nevertheless, very successful.

Mild combination of pot and column still. In total, the pot still has the upper hand in terms of taste, the column still does not make a noticeable positive contribution. Intensity a bit too low. Since I like other bottlings significantly better...

Nose: Licorice, Toasted Coconut, Raspberry, Cinnamon, Menthol. Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Licorice, Toasted Coconut, Menthol, Cinnamon, Black Pepper, Allspice. Finish: Medium length finish, Allspice, Cinnamon, Menthol, Black Pepper, Raspberry. Rating: 6/10 Very good. Like the flavors, the Menthol notes are weird but a fun addition that don’t overpower too much. Its good as I
