Ein typischer OWH, bei dem ich die fruchtigen high Ester etwas vermisse. Insgesamt aber sehr rund und komplex. Dadurch ein sehr guter easy sipper!

In the nose still a pleasant fruity estery essence...the palate loses fruit and alcohol, esters and wood dominate ! Dried fruit and spice remain on the finish!

Klasické povídání o hodně muziky za málo peněz. Ve vůni esterové ovoce a vanilka. V chuti ananas, mango, lepidlo. Integrace alkoholu je fajn. Závěr je delší, kořeněný a přijemný. Jako celek moc příjemná lahev.

This is a very rare bottle and at release the price was very good. The nose is fruity with roasted wood, lovely esters and vanilla. The palate is intense and funky with roasted wood, esters and fruit trailed by spices. The finish is long and woody with fruit and spices.

It doesn't always have to be high ester. On the contrary, here I have the young marrow with the lowest ester content. Let's see what the 6 years of maturation have brought. Nose: very fruity, tart and sweet, with lots of lime and lemon as well as kiwi and gooseberry. But also has clear hints of washing-up liquid. The relatively high ABV makes it smell fresh like a solvent. The esters present bring some yoghurt into play. Behind that it is slightly spicy-roasted, with vanilla and umami. A little too much dishwashing liquid, otherwise quite nice. 7,7 Palate: All that remains of the moisture of the nose here is lime with a little pineapple. Otherwise I find more spicy-roasted aromas. A little pepper, a little salt, very bacony. The finish is bacon-fat pecan and metallic. A little too tart, although I like the bacon flavor. 7,5

Muss auch ehrlich zugeben, das dies ein eher schlechter Hampden ist. Klar, Hampden typisch viel Estwr und tropische Früchte wie Ananas, Mango und Banane. Aber auch sind Lösungsmittel und eine gewisse Würze erkennbar. Aber etwas zu alkohlisch.

Die sechs Jahre Tropenreifung stehen diesem OWH zwar gut, aber im Antritt wirkt er etwas dünn und immer wieder zeigen sich ein paar alkoholische Spitzen. Ein ganz guter Jamaika-Rum, der allerdings aufgrund seines eher niedrigen Ester-Levels etwas beliebig wirkt.
