Chairman's Reserve Master's Selection (Salon du Rhum) 2011
One taster wanted their Chairman's "bold and in your face" and found this one on the lighter side — and that split runs through the reviews. Expect tropical marmalade, dried fruit and vanilla up front, with young oak, licorice and a medicinal solvent edge that nods at Jamaican funk. A few felt it turns too sweet and a touch unbalanced, the alcohol not fully knit in.

Fruity, medicinal Saint Lucia sipper, slightly uneven Well-liked but not the strongest Saint Lucia release. Fruity, medicinal and lightly smoky, though several find it too sweet, dry-tannic, or the alcohol poorly integrated.

Viele neue Eindrücke. Rauch, Eiche und Lakritz?!? Dennoch ein sehr gelungener Rum. Wie gewohnt ein starker St.Lucia

#4446 02.11.2023 Not too bad but a but light on the profile. Well rounded and naturally sweet. I like my Chairman's Reserve bold and in your face and this one is on the lighter side. Medium fruity and fresh. Palate is oily and has some licorice and nutts. The finish is medium long with some chocolate. The empty glass has a light smoky note and the chocolate is more obvious.

Alkohol ist schlecht eingebunden.

Recht viel junges Holz.

Rather metallic, burnt with a hint of thyme, anise, green pepper, and licorice, very dry and astringent with lots of tannins. The alcohol could be better integrated... in my opinion, the 2005 vintage is significantly better.

Read full review →If you enjoy the standard Chairman's Reserve range and were looking at something a bit pricier as an upgrade then this is not badly priced at all. I would recommend trying this over the Chairman's Reserve Forgotten Casks. I don't think that offers as much of a progression as this.
