Chairman‘s Reserve Master’s Selection (Salon du Rhum) 2011
One taster called it "well rounded and naturally sweet" but lighter than the bold Chairman's Reserve they expected. That sums it up: marmalade and tropical yellow fruit on the nose, then dried fruit, vanilla, licorice and nuts, with a young-wood, roasted edge. A medicinal solvent touch nods at Jamaica. Several found the sweetness creeps up and the alcohol isn't always tidy.

Viele neue Eindrücke. Rauch, Eiche und Lakritz?!? Dennoch ein sehr gelungener Rum. Wie gewohnt ein starker St.Lucia

Alkohol ist schlecht eingebunden.

#4446 02.11.2023 Not too bad but a but light on the profile. Well rounded and naturally sweet. I like my Chairman's Reserve bold and in your face and this one is on the lighter side. Medium fruity and fresh. Palate is oily and has some licorice and nutts. The finish is medium long with some chocolate. The empty glass has a light smoky note and the chocolate is more obvious.

Recht viel junges Holz.

Rather metallic, burnt with a hint of thyme, anise, green pepper, and licorice, very dry and astringent with lots of tannins. The alcohol could be better integrated... in my opinion, the 2005 vintage is significantly better.

Rosted wood and meat... Interesting

"If you enjoy the standard Chairman's Reserve range and were looking at something a bit pricier as an upgrade then this is not badly priced at all. I would recommend trying this over the Chairman's Reserve Forgotten Casks. I don't think that offers as much of a progression as this."Read full review →
