People are genuinely split here, and it comes down to one thing: the Islay whisky cask. Several blind tasters didn't peg it as Jamaican at all — the Worthy Park fruit basket gets, as one member put it, smoked away. What's left is ash, tobacco, peat and cigar smoke over faint banana and citrus. Whisky drinkers adore it; classic-rum fans often don't. At 57.3% it's hot and needs time.

The nose is fruity and smoky with vanilla and a hint of tobacco. The palate is intense, spicy and has smoky wood with fruits and tobacco. I think whisky lovers will take a liking to this one because the flavours are pretty close to whisky. The fi isj is long and has smoky wood, tobacco and dried fruit to it. Price to quality is very good.

Oh my God! The smoke is really overwhelming, and the Rum itself shines through it slightly at times. I would not have thought that a Jamaican Rum can be so... dwarfed by a Whisky cask finish. The finish is full of ash, which I still could taste hours later. This is not for me, I gifted the sample to a colleague who likes his Octomore.

All in all, a delicious Worthy Park. Funnily enough, the smell and taste of whisky that I detect in this bottling doesn't even bother me that much. I actually quite like it. For whatever reason.

And lastly a Worthy Park. Good rum. In any case, the nose here clearly differs from the palate. The nose is very fruity, with dried and citrus fruits here. On the palate, rather very smoky, roasted, and woody. Nice way to end the day.

Islay notes are very dominant in the nose. Needs quite some time in the Glas to show some WP notes as well. The combination of Bowmore and WP seems to work pretty well. However, the whisky notes are very prominent which will definitely not please every rum lover out there :)

Here comes (for me ) together what I do not like so.... Smoke ,ash and WP ... Fortunately only a sampler since I had such a premonition . Of course it is thereby NOT a bad rum just this time absolutely not mine ... F

The fruity notes that normally comes with a rum from Worthy Park works surprisingly well together with the Islay maturation, for a non whisky drinker this could be a challenge though.

Nice mix on the nose: Worthy Park fruity and ester-rich well present but followed by malty and smoky notes. You clearly have to like rums with a whisky finish because there is no doubt. Same observation on the palate: a smoky, slightly peated whisky follows a very classic Worthy Park. The banana is thus replaced by quite a clear peat. The alcohol is sharp. Vegetal and bitter notes at the end of the palate. Vegetal and peaty finish. This rum should be tested in a revisited Boulevardier.

When the nose has settled in, you immediately notice the smoky aroma of not too old cigar ash, behind it a light fruitiness, perhaps cherry, something fresh and lemony, then vanilla On the palate, the cigar ash comes back immediately, I literally have the feeling of dry ash in my throat. But it's not unpleasant. Some bitter notes on the back. Also some aniseed and sweet spiciness, but then cigar again. The finish also remains cigar and something salty-sweet. I've definitely drunk worse smoky rums.

Here we have, or had, a super PLV. Beautiful WP ester with vanilla, tobacco, some leather and then also immediately joins the Islayeinfluss, which is amazing for Bowmore peaty notes to the rum on, which although this is not an easy-sipper and also very sharp, a beautiful harmonious composition.

Nice to drink WP with smoky finish. Will probably no longer a fan of such finishes but it's time what different and who strains also gets a few fruity tones out. A very good rum only my taste he meets (at least today) not quite.

The rum needs some time in the glass, initially the alcohol predominates, then banana, lemon and finally smoky accents appear. At first, the alcohol has to be tamed, then something peppery emerges and quickly changes to a woody, smoky, slightly astringent taste. Some fruity aromas of banana develop in the background. The finish is accompanied by smoky, slightly peaty and woody aromas. In my opinion, this is a high-quality rum overall, but it lacks a clear line

My dear goodness - this is good. Well, at least for a passionate whisky drinker. The nose could easily pass for a pot still wine cask aged Bunnahabhain. On the tongue, it reveals itself as rum, a very tasty one. The Islay cask recedes but remains present with a nice pleasant wood aroma. Spicy, round, easy to drink. Despite 57 degrees, a pleasant mouthfeel and because of the 57 degrees, a full punch of aromas in the face. The finish leaves a pleasant light cold ash pile, just as you would wish for a Caol Ila. The already spicy basic orientation of the WP is clearly enhanced by the Islay cask influence paired with a fresh herbal start. In the blind tasting, not identifiable as Jamaican, but a tasty rum.

Whisky. That's all you really need to say. Unfortunately, not my taste at all. The Worthy Park fruit basket is practically non-existent here, it was literally smoked away, as besides peaty whisky notes, there's also a lot of tobacco.

For me, a quite fitting combination of the fruity WP and the by no means overpowering Bowmore finish... Needs time and is no easy sipper - but leaves a lasting impression.

On the nose, peaty, earthy and green, reminiscent of pine needles. Wood is hinted at. On the palate, the peat recedes into the background, woody notes are clearly noticeable. The alcohol is well integrated. The Jamaica character is somewhat recognizable. Very untypical for Worthy Park.
