Engenhos do Norte Rum Artesanal Agricola Madeira Island 2016

One taster called it "a nice sipper" that reads like a mix of Spanish and French style — and that captures it. Red wine dominates the nose, backed by grape, cherry and young oak, then the cane-juice, grassy agricole side shows up on the finish. Fruity and creamy for its youth, though the red-wine cask influence splits people hard.

9. Tag Weihnachtskalender. Blind! Erster Eindruck Rotwein!

First try: OK, got impressionsof cherries, but will wait for the final verdict on the second session. 2nd Tasting: nicer overall, like a mix of Spanish and French style. It comes very fruity, I got lots of cherry, has the Spanish style middle and an Agricole finish. A nice sipper.

Aged rum

Avg Rating 8.0/10 over 16,000 Rums

Aged rum is where the spirit earns its complexity. In a tropical warehouse a barrel loses 6 to 10 percent of its contents to evaporation every year, which is why an 8-year Caribbean rum can taste deeper than a 20-year Scotch. This page gathers every rum on RumX that has spent real time in wood, with community ratings to separate the genuinely mature from the merely dark.
