Excellence Rhum Hampden LROK 2000
People already into Hampden's ester funk are the obvious crowd here. Expect pineapple, banana and that classic glue-paint ester on a floral nose, with a darker, roasted, faintly woody palate. A 16-year cask-strength pot still that several tasters love, though a couple call it a touch watered-down and lighter on complexity than they'd expect from the age.

Un nez assez floral et fruité. Pas une trace de bois, c'est étonnant pour un rhum de cet âge. Par contre la bouche est beaucoup plus sombre, ça n'est pas désagréable mais ça manque un peu d'équilibre. Un profil étonnant pour Hampden.

Slightly older tasting. Nice and fresh Hampden with a very nice and floral nose and a warm palate with fruit. Made a note that the empty glass had a light smoky note to it.
