Great Grand Arôme with pleasant alcohol content.

Typical Grand Arôme with the expected Savanna notes of fermented fruit, ester and slight solvent imprint. The 57.8% certainly gives expression but feels a bit too restrained, more power would have done the bottling good. Compared to newer releases with over 65% it lacks depth and complexity here, which is why the rating is lower.

#4168 If you like Savanna you're going to like this one as well. Nice and intense with some funk. Lots of fruit in the profile and I'd go as far as saying rotten fruit 😊 Love the menthol in the finish.

Impressive savanna grand arome, with usual funky traits of vinyl and strawberries, plus the usual complexity sustained by the abv. Esters are noticeable, but also a fresh side is clearly emerging while drinking

Really delicious. A very expressive nose, with a nice smell of cognac, spices and ripe fruits. That we find in mouth. Alcohol very well integrated

A nose of varnish, banana, medicinal herbs and a slight acetone. The entry on the palate is lively, but soon a bit watery, then fruits coat the mouth with menthol and other botanicals. The finish is shorter than expected with a somewhat candy-like side. In short, an interesting rum, but it lacks complexity and the alcohol is a bit too present for my taste.

A nose that starts with acetone. And that very particular combination of strawberry yogurt and overripe pineapple that follows throughout the tasting. The proof makes this rum accessible and lets the wood express itself. Nice.

Savanna used to make awesome stuff. Unfortunately, those times are over when it was available and affordable. Rarely do you find individual bottles at the retail price anymore, even though the market value has already doubled or more.

New double tasting of Savanna with buddy Selvam Carlier: Lontan GA 2002 - 57.8% Really delicious. A very expressive nose, with a nice smell of cognac, spices and well-ripe fruits. Which you find again on the palate. Alcohol very well integrated. I really liked it 🥰 Unshared Cask Denmark 2009 - 59.1% Nose very reserved and closed... On the palate, it is slightly fruity, with bitterness and bitter chocolate. Very dry finish. Quite a disappointing release I find. I expected much more for a first Danish version.
