Milano Rum Festival & Barmetro Port Mourant 2008

Pear, mirabelle and yellow orchard fruit lead the nose here — this is a lighter, fruitier Port Mourant than most. Several tasters note the usual PM markers (wet wood, anise, pepper) stay unusually shy, leaving fruit and a touch of honey up front. The palate turns drier and more peppery, with licorice and a faintly smoky, coffee-like edge on the long finish.

Aggregated from 23 community reviews.

Fruity, pear-led Demerara with peppery finish Well-liked as a fruit-forward Port Mourant, though the classic markers are muted. A few find the 57% alcohol not fully integrated, and the palate less fruity than the nose.

A Port Mourant with a very light color and lots of fruit, pear, mirabelle plum, plum. The palate does not highlight the fruit, but rather pepper and spices, leather. The finish is long on pepper and spices with a bit of wet woody bitterness. With the glass empty come back the fruits of the nose, interesting. Not an unforgettable rum though. Thanks Rodolphe for the sample.

good PM. Reminiscent of the Rum Cask PMs (MPM/PM), with lots of yellow fruits and notes towards olive and anise. On the palate, mirabelle plums, apple, burnt sugar, which fades into wood and a fresh, slightly peppery note.

Very pleasantly surprised by this PM. On the nose yellow fruit, mirabelle and pear. A sweetness of honey and caramel. On the palate silky smooth. Fruit flavors also dominate here, as well as some spice (anise and licorice). Thanks to Rodolphe for the sample.👍

A rum that you do not particularly notice its age of 10 years. Very fruity nose, pome fruit and yellow fruits dominate. The palate is dominated by fruity acidity. Green apples and a light honey sweetness alternate and spices join in.Interesting, but not my preferred profile. As someone else has already noted a great similarity to the TRC MDX.

Very good rum with picture book Port Mourant profile 🙂 The rum accomplishes the feat of being sweet and fruity as well as dusty dry on the finish!
