The first impression on the nose: these sweet and sour apple rings. After 30 minutes in the glass, the green apple is still very dominant, along with esters and fermentation. Unfortunately, there is no apple left on the palate; the alcohol is very present, along with tropical fruit and light spice and barrel aromas. The longer you leave it to stand, the better it gets on the nose and palate.

Kann da skyfly beipflichten. In der Nase hatte ich auch diese sauren Apfelringe von der Haribo Gummibärchen in der Nase. Geschmacklich habe ich die leider nicht wieder gefunden. Ansonsten ist es nicht wirklich eine Abfüllung die ich unbedingt brauche.

Hier gibt es einen ordentlichen Einblick in die Welt von Hampden, wobei alles irgendwie ein wenig gedämpft wirkt. Die Ester sind vorhanden, auch das Fass ist erkennbar, aber bei den zum Teil durchaus merklichen 57% hätte ich eine doch deutlich höhere Aromendichte erwartet.
