Made for people already into aged Martinique agricole who want wood and spice over grassy funk. This 2005 La Mauny leans dry and boisé — leather, dried apricot, cinnamon and dark chocolate, with the 49.7% well tucked in. Several tasters loved the length and integration; a couple found the palate slightly flat after a lovely nose, and one honestly called it "a bit boring."

Good agricole, alcohol intgrated very well. Quite dry too. But also… a bit boring. Don’t know how to put it otherwise, but it doesn’t excite me.

On the nose grape/raisin, caramel (flan, crema catalana), allspice, vanilla, pastry. Tobacco, herbs, dark chocolate and wet wood on the palate. The Agricole-typical grassy notes on the finish. A very pleasant sipper due to the relatively low ABV.

25.05.2019 Sitting at home enjoying some nice samples. Notes Medium to dark in colour. Nose Fresh, round, berries, light marzipan, light roasted wood, faint chocolate. Palate Dry, wood, light roasted, berries, light nutts, faint leather. Finish Medium to long, wood, berries, dry, light mint, vegetal.

A wonderful Agricole, elegant and at the same time powerful. Reminds me a bit of the Dillon Bdf 2013, but with more leathery and woody aromas. The alcohol is perfectly integrated and the finish is wonderfully long. I definitely want more of this!

A rather woody and roasted nose but a mouth definitely focused on fruits with less exuberant woodiness. Except for the mismatch between mouth and nose, not the most complex but nice intensity and good length. Definitely Martinique.

Nose: Very strong herbal nose, vanilla, wood, sweet-complex, slightly bitter notes, coffee. Taste: Nice drinking strength with plenty of power without being overwhelming, herbal, spicy, almonds, wood, complex, I like it much better than the La Mauny 2005 with 42% alcohol because of the strength. Finish: Long and full-bodied, alcohol strong but well integrated. Great Agricole!!

Dried fruits, cookie dough, a bit of alcohol. Nice wood aging. Not quite as round and balanced as the top tier (Chantal Comte, Neisson). But still a very good Agricole.

A very pleasant nose mixing wood, fruit, licorice very lightly and a little roasting bringing indulgence!! On the palate, the fruits take over with very fine wood and a slight licorice bringing freshness! A fairly long fresh finish! Great selection!

It’s good, it’s round, it’s powerful, light esters, polished wood, flower honey, slight oxidative notes on the walnut, dried fig, nice integration but lacks a bit of length.

Really very good. Beautiful success this vintage! Nice balance with the lovely markers of La Mauny and obviously a beautiful typicity of Martinique. More enjoyable in the end than the XO, with a more than reasonable price.
