Duncan Taylor T.D.L Single Cask Rum 1991

Opinions land all over the place on this one. A few tasters get a lovely warm pour — pineapple, dried fruit, cinnamon and light chocolate over young-tasting oak. Others expected more from a 20-year Trinidad column still and came away let down, calling it flat and shallow once it opens up. At 54.8% it stays warm but never loud. Pleasant, not profound.

Warm, spicy Trinidad sipper that divides drinkers Split verdict: some find it a pleasant, spicy easy-sipper, others feel 20 years didn't add much depth. The catch is it fades toward ordinary with air.

Příjemný, lehký rum. Sušené ovoce, dřevo, koření, prostě pohoda.

It started quite promising with little dirty notes but with aeration it all dissapeared and the rum became "ordinary" with quite young wood, light caramel, tropical fruits, yellow fruits, mainly ripe juicy pineapple, even hints of red apple. . The palate is little alcoholic, tropical fruits, wood, spices, not much else. I expected a lot from 20y old rum, but this is very dissapoting. No complexity whatsoever, it is kind of flat, shallow and unspecific. Waste of 20 something years.

Profil vůně spíš zapadá do Foursquare stylu. Kokos, koření, skořice, dřevo, sušené ovoce. Chuť kokos, třísloviny, sušené ovoce. V závěru hraje prim karamel s kokosem a skořicí. Velké množství koření a tříslovin v chuti hodně sráží celkový dojem.

Angostura is famous for a bottle most people never drink neat. The bitters house founded in 1824 became Trinidad's only rum distillery, and its arm Trinidad Distillers makes a clean, column-distilled, Spanish-style rum unlike the heavy funk of Jamaica or Guyana. The same plant still guards the secret recipe for the world's most famous cocktail bitters.
