RumX Sample-Set Standard. Ein wirklich klasse Hampden, obwohl er nur 40% hat. Ich kann hier sehr viel Ester in der Nase und am Gaumen erkennen. Ansonsten auch die typischen tropischen Früchte Banane und Ananas. Lässt sich super trinken.

For a 1990 Hampden, I had higher expectations. More on the floral - grassy side, with hay and an intense acidity and woodiness. The typical Hampden fruit esters and funk are there, but in my opinion the dilution brings way too much acidity to the forefront and pushes the otherwise nice and typical sweet creaminess for 1990 into the background. Complaining at a high level, but in my opinion not yet Champions League! Without dilution, there would certainly have been enormous potential to go up...

90s Hampdens have been absolute bombs for me so far, which is why this one really disappoints me due to the heavy dilution. The flavor profile is basically good, but extremely weak so that ester/varnish/glue are almost not noticeable.

Sehr angenehm. Sticht nicht in der Nase und brennt nicht auf der Zunge. Erlaubt dem Geschmack sich zu entwickeln. Etwas viskös, honigartig auf der Zunge. Frucht, ein bisschen Ester (trotz C<>H eher mild). Mollig warmer Nachklang, Mittellang, kräftiger werdend. Gefällt mir gut, würde aber klar auf den Preis schauen. Guter Benchmark, um zu sehen, wie der Alkohol eingebunden ist.
