Claquesin Erédya

Vintage hunters and old-school Martinique fans are the ones who'll get this 1970s bottling. The nose leans fruity and woody — red fruits, cherry, green apple, a bit of caramel and vanilla — while the palate turns spicy and woody with roasted nuts, orange peel and a whiff of tobacco. One taster caught a "nice 86 rockley tail." At 40% it reads a touch thin, but it's a genuine window into how rum tasted decades ago.

Fruity, woody 70s Martinique vintage sipper A charming vintage curiosity more than a powerhouse — drinkers enjoy the old-style fruit and wood, though a few note the thin body and likely aromatic additions.

An old-fashioned rum from Martinique that offers more than the bottle suggests. This lady of the '70s offers a lovely fruity bouquet on the nose (red fruits, cherry, green apple, plum, orange, grapes) followed by notes of caramel and yeast, vanilla woodiness, nuts and brandy. On the palate, the rum is full-bodied and full-bodied despite its 40%, with spicy notes, roasted nuts and tobacco. The fruit, on the other hand, is more subdued. The moderately long finish continues with a vegetal, earthy and grassy framework that completes this old-fashioned profile. An original, fairly aromatic rum that lets you discover what was done in the old days.

Leider etwas dünn, aber geschmacklich nicht unspannend. Apfel, Zitrus, Kloreiniger.

Pleasant rum from the 70s. Very different from the great aromas we know today. Most likely molasses (for the most part) and most likely various aromatic additions. A good vintage discovery from Martinique.
