Wow, this one was even better and I have to see if I can get my hands on a bottle somewhere. The nose is complex with lots of fruit, varnish and smoke trailed by flower, caramel, vanilla and a bit of honey. The palate is complex with smoky wood, fruits and vanilla trailed by caramel, licorice and a hint of tea. The finish is very long with smoky wood, tropical fruits and a hint of licorice. Needs to rest and if you add a few drops of water the flavours really open up. Price to quality is very good.

A lovely old Hampden from the early 90s. Very well balanced. Quite sweet and pale in colour, Im assuming it would have been continentally aged. Im getting tropical fruits and some smokiness as well. Very nice.

Ca commence fort avec ce nez très fondu ou les esters, les fruits mûrs et le boisé sont présents mais d'une belle finesse. Ca n'explose pas. Hâte de goûter. Sensation confirmée avec cette bouche élégante ou la trame boisée enrobé les fruits et les esters d'une délicate amertume. C'est vraiment très fin. Superbe.

Dégustation avec Simon Nez: ultra élégant, assez frais fruits tropicaux pas forcément mûre (passion), ananas en trame de fond, gourmand. Bouche: fidèle au nez, tres frais élégant sur l’ananas et la passion. Trop gentil pour moi manque un peu d’exubérance de la distillerie. Ça reste un joli rhum

High-ester meets heavy, syrupy sweetness. Overall, very balanced, full-bodied, but without reaching the complexity of some other bottlings from the early 90s. Nevertheless, a very good rum.

A nice '92 HD, as full as the SBRR (RX 1413), although a bit lower in alcohol, and the alcohol integrates better than it, without the obvious spiciness and pungency. very similar to the rest of the '92 HDs, so if don't get a chance to drink it, you can totally have another alternatives. Of course, there are the common problems of 1992: the complexity, the implicit finish, and a bit monotonous overall.
