More peppery than you'd expect from a 40% agricole — the nose leans spice, tobacco and orange peel, and the palate follows with pepper, vanilla and a touch of mint. Several tasters call it elegant for a young rum, "smooth with a floral taste" and easy to sip. The recurring gripe: the alcohol sits a bit apart, and the finish is short.

Overall an pleasant and elegant Agricole thats despite the low ABV and the short aging is complex and tastes a lot. The nose is complex, spicy and fruity with aromas of pepper and tobacco. At the palate and during the medium long finish it’s elegant, complex, fruity and spicy with flavors of pepper, orange and tobacco.

The next one from the La Routebdes Rhums Advent calendar. Has to go :-) It is also very spicy on the nose, with notes of pepper and tobacco. Very spicy on the palate as well, with pepper and vanilla again, as well as a hint of mint.

A decent agricultural rum, fairly round, with fruity aromas leaning towards spicy notes. The alcohol is quite present and could have been better integrated. It would benefit from a little more complexity to be better.

Blind tasting Avent 2024. Nice nose of candied fruits, a hint of wood but fresh. Palate: Alcohol very little integrated, same tone without complexity. Very little length. Insufficient for me beyond the nose which has a little interest, but in the end no complexity nor length.
