8,3:On the nose, the first impression we get is woody with roasted and toasted notes like nuts, vanilla, buttery caramel, some spice, toffee, maple. There is also orange peel. On aeration, the molasses is vegetal with black tea, tobacco, the wood is a bit resinous, as the fruits dried with apricots and prunes. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is syrupy, buttery, thick, spicy and round with bourbon yellow fruits, charred wood with caramelized brown sugar, vanilla, crème brûlée, nuts, other sweet spices and leather. After some rest, the molasses is vegetal, herbaceous, there is some tobacco, dried fruits with dates, raisins, apricots, very round and candied licorice. 8,4:The finish is long, dry, thick and syrupy, spicy with charred wood notes like roasted nuts, caramel, coffee, dried fruits like dates, prunes, raisins as the molasses is vegetal with herbal and tobacco notes.. First of all, many thanks to Bolerus for being able to get me a sample from your buddy. Not a highlight for me, but as a mixer in this style not too bad, I've had much worse rums in the glass in the Dominican Republic.

This weekend was very busy because I've been building a new shelf system for my 250+ bottles so my Saturday and Sunday tastings haven't been added :-) This one is very sharp and I left it to rest for 30 minutes which only reduced the sharpness a bit. A drop of water and another 15 minutes of rest took the top of the sharpness and released more flavours. Price to quality not so good though.
