This rum is made in the spirit of the revolutionary Dutty Boukman in mind. Boukman was transported to Haiti as a slave, but became a leader of the “Maroons” (independent societies of escaped and free black people) and a voodoo priest. In 1791, Boukman ignited the Haitian Revolution, swearing an oath to liberty that was toasted with rum. Boukman was soon killed by French colonist but, the movement he started eventually freed Haiti, and defeated Napoleon’s armies. Boukman produce their rum (or spirit drink) in the traditional Haitian way, similar to a local spiced moonshine. The Clairin base comes from two different distilleries.

Another quite unique bottle from the outside and the inside. Very earthy and fresh and technical at the same time, herbals, grass, floral, spices, medicinal... I quite enjoyed it, another quite crazy Haiti.

Ce n’est pas mon préféré mais c’est un bon rhum, très floral , très herbacée fais penser au région de Provence cependant il est très frais et surprenant !

Un peu trop sucré, mais assez agréable quand on est pas fan de rhum arrangé, plus boisé avec la cannelle et l’écorce d’orange, bien équilibré dans l’ensemble.

Quite interesting but 70€ are absolutely not justified for a spiced clairin and in addition, the alcohol could be much better integrated. Since I prefer to buy 2 real clairins like Sajous or Rocher...

Mein Rum ist das nicht, aber ist okay. In Nase und Gaumen ziemlich floral und pflanzlich, aber nicht wirklich rund. Muss aber sagen, ich fand die Story von @Stefan Persson zu diesem Rum echt mega interessant. Und auch ist die automatische Übersetzung in dieser App 1000x besser als bei guugel :-)

#4437 Whisky & Rom Festival 2023 28.10.2023 Notes. Not the world's best rum but probably a good mixer. Lightly fruity with herbal and medicinal notes. After resting a light floral note appears.
