Cadenhead's has brought out some of the best rum ever and here we are faced with a true masterpiece! The rum literally sticks to your mouth! Integration between flavors and wood almost perfect! My new continental aging rum reference!

One of those masterpieces from the old Demerara line. Incredible density and power, oily texture, the whole mouth is flooded immediately. The alcohol announces itself very briefly before being overwhelmed by a flood of aromas - leather, molasses syrup, anise, allspice, brown caramel, licorice, dried tropical fruits and prunes, freshly ground coffee beans, dark chocolate, tobacco... the spectrum is as impressive as it is exquisite. One of those rums you can't have in your glass often enough. World class.

This one is almost up to par with its older brother and just a joy for your nose and palate. Again you'd probably need to get it at auction like me if you want it. The nose is setting off with varnosh/polish followed by spices and nuts. The sherry cask is in there too with somme mint. The palate lives up to the nose again setting off with varnish and spices. Then it goes into chocolate, nuts and minty molasses. A very complex yet balanced rum. The finish is, like its older brother, forever and besides oak boasts spices, cocoa and a hint of sherry.

Nose- typical Enmore profile with dozen of added molasa. Smoky, woody. Tongue- strong taste Enmore. Strict, woody, smoky, not a single gram of sugar. If tou have a chance to taste this rum, do it. For any cost. Money will be there all the time, a chance to taste this rum not.

This rum is the definition of the expression "there are levels" in the rum game, we are out of category here. The nose is extremely dense and rich, many aromas mingle: a slightly varnished woody, powerful and elegant, winter spices (cinnamon, vanilla, chili, licorice, star anise), roasted notes (leather, dark chocolate, tobacco), black tea herbs and molasses are present in this ultra concentrated nose. The fruity aromas weigh down the profile with cherry, blackberry, black berries, prune and raisin. Menthol brings a breeze of olfactory freshness that adds depth to the nose, simply splendid. The aromatic concentration is maximal on the palate. The profile remains warm, powerful and lively despite its advanced age. Yet the balance and aromatic complexity are almost perfect: from the warm, oily and elegant structure of the palate emerge oak barrel, noble varnished wood, but also menthol which takes more space and challenges the dark notes, notably dark chocolate, roasted coffee and leather. We have a crazy aromatic intensity on hot caramel, molasses, tobacco and the spices from the nose. We again distinguish prune, black fruits and black tea, heavy and opulent to support this extremely dark Demerara profile. A rum of almost insolent harmony, of unheard depth and disconcerting eloquence, pure magic. The finish is of almost eternal length, intensely dark, warm, woody and spicy. We find the archetype present on the nose and palate, with bitter notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, nuts and coffee, then leather, tobacco and warm spices. The gourmandise returns on sticky molasses and hot caramel, but also on the heavy black fruit, then gives the final clap on this subtle and elegant menthol. A peerless rum that constitutes an experience in itself. It is a dantesque olfactory and gustatory epic for one of the best Enmore (and rum) ever distilled.

There are simply no words to describe the nose of this rum - the balance, complexity and aromatic depth are astonishing. We are very close to absolute perfection. The palate shows a slightly stronger influence of the wood, bringing a touch more bitterness while remaining quite spectacular. A truly exceptional rum, fully worthy of its reputation !
