Agricole fans who like their cane juice aged, dry and woody will find plenty here: dried fruit, tobacco, spices and a fresh sugarcane thread, with the 58% nicely tucked in. Honey and vanilla round it out. The honest catch, repeated by many who know the series: it's the "weakest" Liberation so far, a bit woody and short on complexity.

Most helpful positive review
More wood and less almond on the nose than the 45% version. More serious, very dignified, very nice. Mega cool in the mouth. Full, dense, lots of honey. The finish could be a little longer. The closest taste to the Bielle standard (Brut de fut 20XX), without reaching the class of the Liberation series. The 2020 does not disappoint. It's in line with the 2012, but my favorite remains the 2015 with its sunny disposition.

Just like the reduced one, big disappointment. Very woody profile, we lost what made the releases famous, the gourmandise and the fruit. Almost unpleasant sensation on the palate. Leaves a harsh side that lasts very long, like some rums that have been put back into aging in unheated new barrels.

I like the Rhum Rhum Liberation series. But the 2020 is for me the weakest bottling so far. It's really not bad, but unfortunately doesn't reach the complexity of its predecessors.

This is not a cheap rum, but quality costs and this is a good rum. I like it better than the "little" brother. Once rested the nose is fresh and woody with dried fruits and sugarcane trailed by vanilla, floral and earthy notes. The palate is lightly dry with smoky wood, fruits and spices trailed by honey and a hint of tobacco. The finish is long and lightly dry with wood, raisin and a hint of tobacco. Price to quality can be argued, but it's a good rum nonetheless.

The nose is similar to the diluted version. Again, a noticeable earthy note. On the palate, again the association with whiskey (slightly smoky). Additionally tobacco, herbs, spice, wood and honey - very balanced. The finish follows continuously.Not my preferred style.

A really great rum, put it on my wishlist after the sample. Beautiful Agricole with the typical notes but wonderfully round and smooth. Alcohol insanely well integrated. I really liked it!

Full tasting 2024: Compared to the 2017, hardly any difference in the nose. It feels a bit more mature. On the tongue, not quite as pleasing. The alcohol is more present and therefore the rum doesn't feel as harmonious as the 2017. Update after another direct comparison... it goes up 1 point :-)

On the nose, a nice aged agricole. Confectionery, wood and spices, but also honey and vanilla in the nose, and just a little herbal. Only little alcool is perceived here, while drink side it's much more noticeable. On the mouth honey and vanilla again, much more spices and, overall a bitter herbal note very noticeable and that lowers a bit my overall score

Last Rhum Rhum Libération, in the tasting order, the 5 reduced from 2010 to 2020, then the 5 full proof from 2012 to 2020 with the 2015 LMDW. Thanks Christophe Klubert for sharing the split 👌 👃 Woody vanilla at first, a bit of honey, it's rather smooth despite the ABV. I get a Highland malt whisky vibe, spices, vanilla and earthy sweetness. Fresh nuts, dried fruits, relative freshness of sugarcane, and a nice note of caramelized banana. 😋 Quite alcoholic, lots of spicy, vanilla and peppery wood. The fruitiness is in the background. Combination of dried fruits and infused tea leaves. Strong presence of barley sugar evolving into tannic sugarcane, if that's possible 😅 In a way, lighter, this 2020 reminds me of the 2017, with notes of fortified wines (still reminds me of some SC BDF from the Engenhos do Norte distillery). ⛳ Dry, rough, fresh and mentholated. Light cane, cigar, chocolate, vanilla, dried fruits, spices. The peppery note lingers for a long time. 💡 By far, the least interesting FP, quite "flat" compared to the others despite the ABV. The first 2 reduced seem more expressive than this last FP. Not a bad dram by any means but a bit behind, just like the 2020 reduced.

Flo's birthday tasting Rhum Liberation 2024-05-17: At the lower end of the scale of today's tasted Integrales, but still a very tasty Agricole. Sugarcane, spices, tobacco, dried fruit and enough power.

Tasted together with the Integrale 2017. The 2020 is a bit fresher on the nose (herbs) and more pronounced in the citrus fruits, the 2017 is a bit more pronounced in dried fruits and caramel. On the palate, the 2017 is a bit rounder. The 2020 comes more through the tannins and oak barrel. Overall, the 2017 has a slight edge.

This Liberation Integrale comes along much better, but really can not convince me!The flavors are more present and intense, but lacks complexity!Honestly, I had set him a higher expectation!

C’est pas le meilleur de la série « libération » mais il se défend plutôt bien Beaux arômes de fruits, Fruits secs, Vanille, caramel, Des notes de cuir et du tabac. La longueur est moyennement, longue, mais plutôt agréable

Nice nose. Relatively round... Quite spicy. On the palate also a nice spiciness.. Maybe really tobacco with red fruits. Tastes good also in the finish, relatively nice. You can drink it.

This bottle/sample is my introduction to this series. On the nose: Nicely aged wood. Dried fruits. Spices. Little bit of agricole grass. Not intense. Taste: Woody, spicy and quite dry. Dried fruits. Honey notes giving a little bit of sweetness. Nicely round. High abv is present giving a good body to this and i would say that is nicely integrated. Could use some complexity. Finish:Woody, dry and herbal. Tobacco. Quite woody and complexity was missing for my liking. Still quite good rum.

Pleasant Libe’ much more on toffee and woody notes, with a milky finish. Overall a very good job with something missing in body and mouthfeel, where the fruity and spicy hints are not so intense and complexity lacks. Medium finish

Smells of prunes, raisin, caramel and a little oak. Pours golden. Mouth brings more dried fruit and more oak. The latter sticks around, even ups a kick at the end. Medium finish. Pretty fruity all around. Sample split thanks to xamsx.

טעימה ובכן, סדרה באמת אהובה ואיכותית. משום מה ההוצאות של 2020 פחות לטעמי. מאוד ירוק. תחושה קצת מלאכותית. אין הרבה מורכבות. זה לא שזה לא טעים אבל זאת ירידת מדרגה משמעותית לעומת ההוצאותה קודמות שהיו בעיקר ההוצאה אחת לפני.

Interesting, layered rum, maybe a bit behind its predecessors. On the nose dried fruit, earthy tones, wood and tobacco, similar things on the palate with added vanilla and spices. Good drink, I recommend trying it.

Difficult. If you know the previous releases, you approach the rum with certain expectations. Unfortunately it can't quite meet them compared to its predecessors. Very nice nose, woody, herbs and many spices, pleasant bitterness. Overall, for me it doesn't reach its predecessors.

This is unique. Subdued on the nose and even on the first taste with but very barrel aged so the spicy and woody notes are upfront. What lingers though is a very strong mineral flavor along with olives and a touch of sulfur. Unique, not sure it’ll be my go to all the time but I don’t have anything else like it, and I appreciate it.

Mineral. I’ve never had a rum that had this much of a mineral flavor. It was like a hot spring at Yellowstone but not necessarily in a bad way. The smell really gives you that rich mineral scent and the taste brought the black pepper pretty strong.
