Poured neat, this is a sipping agricole through and through. Expect fresh citrus and green apple up front, then licorice, walnut and a fine oak spice that lingers. A few tasters catch glue and solvent on the first pour that blows off after ten minutes. At nearly 50% it still drinks elegant and light-footed rather than hot. Aged Neisson doing what it does well.

A great rum. Elegant, light-footed. Not too woody, not too grassy. Big vanilla notes towards the finish. A fantastic rum at the highest level.

Enjoying this lovely and complex rum before the first tasting of 2023. I love Neisson because their baseline on the older rums is pretty high. Very fruity and fresh with a hint of mint and licorice. Complex and very well balanced 😊 The finish is very long and smooth. Very nice curtains in the glass.

RX787 vs. RX6418. Phew, a very tight contest between two classics! RX787 is ahead on the nose, it seems more present and older, gnarlier. On the palate, after a long time, the RX6418 pushes itself further and further to the fore. It is sweet and elegant, somehow supple. The RX787, on the other hand, has more wood and power and is somewhat rougher than the RX6418. But it's mercilessly well made! Nevertheless, I find the RX6418 a tick better, more pleasing. Perhaps Luca would have preferred to choose the one for Velier's 70th birthday? 😉

So, after the split, let's pour this long awaited sample... Immediately after pouring, a lot of varnish and solvent. After 10 minutes this has subsided. Now an extremely complex nose, something different with every swirl and difficult to grasp overall - but it's so good.😀 Freshness, spices, orange, the almond cookies typical of Neisson, liquorice, banana, wood, olives, plants etc. Fragile and fine. A little more power wouldn't go amiss.💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 In the mouth, first citrus fruits and then a lot of spice from the wood. The finish is awesome. Warm and crispy, good salivation, spicy, woody and yet fine. The high expectations were fulfilled! Great Neisson, I definitely like it better than its vintage brother from Velier. Nevertheless, 2004 is still clearly my favorite vintage.😀

Wow, I wouldn't have thought that a rum with such a "low" percentage could be so good. It certainly comes across as very fresh and fruity on the nose. On the palate, the barrel/wood predominates again, as well as a hint of liquorice and nuts. Thanks to Vienna for the sample.

Tastes pretty good to me... and that makes me happy. My hit rate with Agricoles is much lower than with molasses rums. This one works for me more or less well. Not too Agricole, nice honeycomb, candied, a bit of glue. For the retail price, I'd rather get something else, but this one can definitely come back to my glass anytime.

First of all, I'm very surprised at myself that I liked it so much. It's not usually my cup of tea, but this is a really fine drop. I don't always have to have it in my glass, but I do like to drink it from time to time.

Wow... Really good Agricole. One of the best I've had in my glass so far... incredibly complex, fruity, woody, sweet .... Really delicious !!! Unbelievable how well Agricole gets by with less ABV.

Very tasty Agricole, which is powerful enough with almost 50% ABV. The nose has just the right amount of everything, fruity, grassy, spicy, woody. The palate is also a completely balanced composition. It is unspectacular at first, but then all the better.

Wow what a nose! Lots of fruit, candied citrus (orange, kumquat, mandarin), blood orange, cinnamon apple, kitchen spices, it smells like Christmas cake all over. A waxed woodiness, crystallized honey. A veil of varnish. On the palate, heated white sugar tending towards caramel, acidity on starfruit and tart green apple, a relative menthol freshness, basket of roasted oilseeds. A nice patinated woodiness, all in finesse. Finish on the bitterness of strong dark chocolate, a bit of sweet pepper, cinnamon stick. The wood coats the palate more at the end of the mouth.

Thanks to Joachim for the super nice sample 🤙🏻 Here you‘ll get a super delicious, balanced agricole. It shows some really lovely licorice, minty/menthol and green apple notes on the palate. The finish is long and super delicious with an overwhelming walnut note.

03/10/2026: tasted @ Salon du Rhum 2026. Very good aged Agricole. Despite the low ABV, this is packed with flavour and complexity. I regret tasting this at the end of the festival, and wished I took a sample home. At this point I was already experiencing substantial palate fatigue.

A very good rum. A nice fruity note with apricot and almond aroma. Finely nuanced. Beautiful agricole base. Alcohol very well integrated. A very pleasant sipper. A bit unusual, but definitely worth it. A very harmonious, sweet finish. Great drop.

Last sample I have of this Neisson range in collaboration with the Velier house. It's a great agricole with a very complex nose, the alcohol perfectly integrated on the palate, the fruits balanced with the wood, some hints of vanilla, some pleasant notes appear, super, I love it
