How does Grays Mauricia Heritage taste?

Aggregated from 23 community reviews.

Light, fresh Mauritian cane-juice sipper A curious explorer’s cane-juice rum with a light, agricole-leaning profile. Expect fresh grass, citrus, apple and grape notes with vanilla and caramel, moving into a dry, woody, slightly bitter finish. Easy neat or in simple highballs, it’s a solid everyday sipper that introduces Mauritian style without being too demanding.

Perfect for

Curious explorers who enjoy light agricole-style rums with fresh citrus, grape and apple notes and prefer an easy, slightly dry sipper over a heavy, sweet dessert rum.

Less suitable for

Those chasing big complexity, heavy sweetness, or ultra-smooth texture; the profile is simple, a bit woody and can feel sharp and bitter to sensitive palates.

A very agricoly rum. Spirity like a Grappa or a Marc de Bourgogne. Grape based spirit. Light and fresh. More oak in the nose than in taste. It's very different from the New Grove old tradition 3y (Which is way thicker). Nothing really fancy but well made and a great daily sipper.

The nose for me is like smelling a fresh bucket of buttery movie theater popcorn. The palate is kind of vegetal and earthy, with a lightly oily mouthfeel. On the finish I get grapes.

Tasted at Rhum Fest Paris, partial notes. It's not really crazy, too much vanilla and caramel, it's rather flat and boring. Too bad.
