Aroma visualization from community tastings
South Pacific Kill Devil 2002
Rubber, solvent and cut grass on the nose, then a medicinal, fruity palate with pineapple, wood and dark spice. This is the classic Fiji ester signature, though a couple of tasters found it thin and one-note, wishing for a bit more body. A few members even said it doesn't taste especially "Fiji" — one called it interesting and medicinal, another just okay.
The community says- Estery Fiji nose
- Medicinal, fruity palate
- But: Thin body

Estery, medicinal Fiji sipper, a touch thin Members mostly land on "nice but thin." The estery, rubbery Fiji nose wins people over; the light body and quick finish hold it back. A divisive middleweight.

Tasted at the Rumhouse in Prague. Very nice selection, expensive prices. But excellent ambience. On the nose the way I want Fiji to be. Solvent, rubber, ester and mowed lawn. Later comes neat wood to it. Flavor likewise how you want fiji, some ester and nice fruity notes with wood and dark spices, and some pepper. Only a few percent more for a better consistency would be desirable.

Interestingly medicinal flavor profile with some wood, cocoa on the nose, milk chocolate in the mouth paired with mocha. Dried fruit in the background. Untypical Fiji that is still fun to drink.

08.12.2018 Had a wonderful meet up with old and new friends at this wonderful hotel. Notes. Light in colour. Nose: fresh, polish, light ester, dried fruit, spice, herbs. Palate: light, wood, fruity, medicinal, rubber, pineapple, light herbs. Finish: medium long, spice, wood, raisin, light smoke.

Part 5 of the Fidji tasting. Blind tasted I would have held this Devil in a simple and diluted blend with Spanish and rum from Trinidad! He definitely does not taste like Fidji, but is quite okay!
