28.03.2015 Whiskymessen Out for myself this time and met up with new enthusiasts and we had a great party after the event. Notes Light in colour. Nose Light, wood, light roasted, fruits, pineapple, light glue, vegetal, light floral, light ester. Palate Light, wood, roasted, light olive, pineapple, dried fruit, ester, medium dry. Finish Medium long, light, wood, orange, light ester, faint floral, light olive.

Nice Monymusk expression. High quality. Tasty despite the reduction. Obviously overall intensity is muted compared to cask strength bottlings.

My expectations for the rum were not very high, and that's exactly what you get. An easy sipping rum without edges and corners. Slightly fruity on the nose, slight ester notes recognizable. On the palate rather dry. Does not stay long in memory, but not negative either. Very short finish. For the price, there are certainly better rums, but for Jamaica newbies definitely a good start.

Very drinkable Monymusk. All the typical flavours are there but the 42% makes it just a bit too thin. Although this is great on a sunny day. If you're lucky enough you'll find these for around 50eu which is well worth it.

Very round, balanced impressions on the nose - tropical fruits with good influence from the cask. On the palate still round but noticeably diluted. The rum does not become flat because of this, but still loses some of its impact. A nice sipper that you would definitely take from the shelf more often - if it were still so easy to get.
