Agricole drinkers who want the cane-juice grassiness with some age behind it should look here. It's cut grass and fresh herbs up front, then chocolate, licorice, almond and orange peel, with a warm, slightly bitter finish. At cask strength the alcohol shows — several tasters say give it time in the glass and maybe a drop of water. Balanced when it settles, a touch herb-heavy for some.

You may need a drop of water or two. Not too bad but needs to rest for a good while before you give it a go. Price to quality is pretty good.

A nose with a bit of alcohol but also marzipan, vegetal and fruity notes (pineapple). A palate with bitterness and fruitiness. A somewhat short finish. A good agricole, but not my favorite by far.

Great nose. Almond-citrus-licorice combination. Typical for Bielle? Associations with Liberation come to mind, but somewhat drier. Round, balanced, alcohol well integrated. A nice cocoa note comes through. More wood maturity in the mouth. Also very good. Very good Agricole, I really like the profile. I will probably spend more time with Bielle in the near future.

Color: very deep golden yellow, nice thick legs; excellent viscosity. Nose: typical agricole opening: cut grass, acetone, immediately followed by a sweet note (chocolate, vanilla, a pinch of licorice). Also perceivable are notes of dried fruit (hazelnut). Adding water releases notes of spices (nutmeg and cinnamon). Palate: enveloping sensation, excellent alcohol balance, returns the taste of grass, citrus (orange), then sweet notes of honey and caramel. In the finish, more sour flavors emerge (olives).

Great floral fruity nose with vanilla, peach, dried fruits, honeydew melon and orange blossom. On the palate very oily consistency, lots of sweetness. Vanilla, orange peel, licorice, pear and chocolate. Alcohol well integrated.

Bielle 2007 brut de fût 7 years 57.3% Today my journey takes me to Guadeloupe, on the island of Marie Galante, to talk about this Rhum Agricole from the Bielle distillery! Distilled in 2007 from pure cane juice, it was aged for 7 years in tropical climate and bottled in 2014 at 57.3% vol. without filtration or additions! Note: 🚨I recommend letting it rest a bit in the glass before starting the tasting...😉! On the nose I perceive a pungency and a slight scent of cinnamon followed by fresh and herbaceous notes typical of agricoles! On the palate it is quite round and citrusy with notes of dark chocolate and licorice that integrate well with the freshness and herbaceousness typical of these rums! A warm but not very long finish closes a drink that in my opinion combines aromatic complexity and alcoholic strength in a balanced way!! Cheers🥃!!

Another really nice Bielle, I barely understand the low score I see there. All the traits of the older Bielle are there. Flowers, Honey, chocolate, some orange. Only negative aspect, alcool bits somehow too much on the palate, along with some bitterness. Overall my score is still really high

Really like it, lots of chocolate, cream candy, spices and grass. Only the alcohol could be a bit better integrated (but with only 7 years in the cask, not too surprising).

In addition to the classic profile of the distillery, this Bielle also has a note that I find disturbing, which I attribute to the spices. This makes it clearly too tart for my taste, as the spice influences become too dominant. Too bad.
