HSE Blanc

The surprise here is a salty, mineral streak that runs under the fresh sugarcane and citrus — a few tasters found it "unangenehm salzig," a couple liked it exactly for that. Fresh cane, citrus zest, light herbs and a peppery finish make it a natural Ti'Punch base, though some feel it's a bit simple and short on fruit for sipping.

Fresh, salty-mineral agricole built for Ti'Punch Most treat this as a reliable Ti'Punch workhorse. Works neat too, but a few find it saline and lacking fruit; opinion splits on whether that mineral edge is a plus or a flaw.

Avg Rating 8.0/10 over 330 Rums

Le Simon is Martinique's ghostwriter. It is the island's most technologically advanced distillery, yet it sells no rum under its own name, runs no public tours, and ages nothing on site. Instead it distils two of the most beloved names in Martinique agricole, HSE and, until recently, Clement, on stills moved here from their original homes. What you taste as HSE is, in fact, Le Simon.
