As far as u can see Privateer did a lot of those Navy releases, identified mostly by their slightly different alcohol percentage. This is a Bourbon Rum, if I ever tasted one. I have a Bourbon at home, and was immediately reminded of it when tasting this one. It comes quite sweet. But as it is unsweetened it must be due to the cask. Surprised (not the navy style I expected) this rum is quite nice, at least to me.

#6273 24.01.2026 Online tasting with a few of the guys today. Thank you Peter for the sample gathering and distribution. Nose Light wood, coconut, faint smoke, anise, dried fruit, light vanilla. Palate Round, wood, light tannins, raisin, coconut, light roasted, anise, butterscotch. Finish Long, wood, light tannins, coconut, raisin. Empty glass Coconut, vanilla, nutmeg licorice.

On the nose: Bourbon cask influence is there. Woody,coconut, light caramel, dried fruits and vanilla. Light and mellow notes on the nose: Taste: Woody, spicy, sweetness from caramel notes, light cocoa. Light raisin. Again, bourbon barrel influence is quite obvious. The alcohol could be integrated better. Finish: Woody and bourbon notes. Medium-long finish Just like the other Privateer i did review before, the palate is quite simple and the notes were pretty mellow. Suitable for the beginning of your rum journey.

Interesting, almost like a Jack Daniels Fire, with woody notes etc. To sum up, my degustation notes: Nose: Meringue On the palate: Spicy, Oaky, Smoky Finish: Woody, Bourbon, Spicy

Lively alcohol but the finish is round, almost Barbados coconut pastry. The bourbon is present, privateer style. Which makes me rather sympathetic to RPQ
