Thanks first to SaibotZtar for the Mega Plantation Split. Unfortunately, this bottling didn't quite pick me up. The finish with the rye whisky is not super dominant but for a whisky hater like me a bit too much. With cola as a mixer it was fine. But unfortunately still not my cup of tea.

8,4:On the nose, esters, solvents, slightly metallic, fermented tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, creamy dairy, sweet roasted wood notes like caramel, burnt sugar, fruitcake, chocolate, leather, rye whisky barrel impact is obvious, floral molasses, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, citrus fruits arise, vanilla, cream, cinammon, meaty tones, pastry with almonds, cinammon, the wood is toasted, molasses grassy, so quite complex rum. 8,2:On the palate, the attack is spicy with cinnamon, peppery, the wood is toasted with caramel, roasted nuts, pastry, vanilla, smoky, fruity with fermented tropical fruits like pineapple, yellow, citrus fruits, dairy hints, rye whisky barrel impact is obvious, molasses is floral, grassy. 8,3:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, warm with spicy toasted oak and cinnamon, pastry, caramel, fruity with banana, orange peel and yellow fruits, slightly chemical, molasses is earthy, minty. I'm a big fan of rye whisky and immediately feel at home. It starts with fruity aromas and a hint of classic rum sweetness, followed by a transition in taste to a clear rye profile with floral and slightly peppery notes. The combination of fruit, spice and floral freshness makes this drop a real experience. A rum with character, depth and development - nice one.

Then today there are still 6 out of 12 from the awesome Maison Ferrand split by SaibotZtar. Thanks again. Typical Jamaican nose, tropical fruits like pineapple and banana, plus esters. On the palate, a bit woody, with caramel on the first sip for me, but some mint on the second.

Really great thing. Beautiful complexity. Fruits and rum at the start and then the flavor transition to Rye Whisky paired with floral notes. The rye profile is very nicely present. Nice one.

Gourmet rum where the rye finish is noticeable, some will find the finish too present (as well as the woodiness), but personally I find it brings a unique identity to this rum

A classic Long Pond from Plantation. The nose is rather shy and reserved, the exotic fruits are discreet, as well as the phenolic notes. Some spices and notes of wood, burnt sugar and toffee come to decorate this rather simplistic and summary profile. We have a firm and phenolic side and some tropical fruits, but it is especially the spices and the wood which arrive in the background which are finally the most noticed. There is a slight smoky side that comes in after a bit of aeration, but the rum remains overall very light and lacks intensity and depth. The finish is short, with some bitter notes, cinnamon, chilli, nuts and caramel that accompany the fruits and a light smoky veil.A rather dull rum that loses too much of its potential with dilution. It would have been interesting to have a version with about ten degrees more. The quality / price ratio is moreover rather debatable.

Unfolds slowly from a relatively complex dry rum to a very strong and also delicious rum with sweet fruity notes. The rye notes are very present but not disturbing.

Wow. The nose omg 🤤 But simply top on all fronts! Whiskey cask influence noticeable only at the back of the tongue with some metallic-chemical compounds. Not overpowering and an added value in a nice balance. Had the bottle in my collection for a while and now a sample. Now I’m sure the bottle will be opened one day! ❤️

I wasn't expecting much and was therefore pleasantly surprised. The finish has a good effect on the rum. More revolutions would definitely be great for more complexity, it seems thin. Good fruit, lots of wood and spice paired with some whiskey notes.

Today's door reveals another successful drop.. I was pretty far off in the blind tasting. Although the alcohol content I estimated fit well. However, I would never have guessed Jamaica. Probably sensibly complex woody aromas. Very fine taste. I like it.

The nose is initially quite appealing: roasted almonds, cinnamon, pineapple, banana and rye whisky. Taste-wise then strangely sour like unripe pineapple, musty, mineral and woody spicy. Somehow I miss the fully ripe fruit and overall it's quite bitter, sour and earthy. Reminds me a bit of the TECA Marks but this one lacks the power. The longer it stays in the mouth, the more overripe, almost rotten banana, bitter lime and some mint come through, which makes it interesting again... Good but not very good, quite unusual! The rye whisky finish definitely brings in some additional notes, whether that improves the rum or not is up to everyone to decide... I would have preferred it without the finish...

Always a very nice nose when it comes to Plantation Jamaica.. However, the finish with the rye gives it a woody note that's too strong for my taste.. The rye takes over the tropical fruits..

Same principle, ITP/HJC mark, but we reach 280 gr/hl of esters, just above the VRW. The rye finish is felt on the nose at first, it seems drier. After airing, it opens and reveals itself as spicy, fruity, vanilla. It's warmer. On the palate, it stands out well from the Clarendon 2000, there is a bit less alcohol but more character. It's not unpleasant, on the contrary, and remains well balanced. It's rich, always exotic fruits but also almond paste. Beautiful aromatic palette. The finish is drier and woodier, influenced by the rye barrel finish.

I found this rum at Schiphol Airport, conveniently there were sample bottles for a slim mark. No regrets! Delicious drop, although a bit thin for my taste – especially with Jamaicans who bring the funk, I find a bit more punch nicer, nevertheless a solid drop that delivers everything the label suggests.

A good rum. For me personally, too much wood influence. Which is pretty harsh. I never thought a Jamaican could get too much wood either, since the distillates are quite intense.

Quite unspectacular Ling Pond unfortunately… and I don’t mean the brand. What bothers me here is rather the dilution. I think it could have handled a few more degrees – especially on the palate. For example instead of the unnecessary finish. But still quite tasty.
