Pusser‘s Rum Aged 15 Years 2003
Demerara fans who find El Dorado 12 and 15 too sweet keep landing here. This Guyana 15-year leans hard on wood, licorice and a menthol-ish note several tasters flag, with only light toffee and dried fruit underneath. At 40% it's gentle in the glass. A few miss the old Nelson's Blood's banana fruitiness, and some wish it hit harder.

How does Pusser‘s Rum Aged 15 Years 2003 taste?
Aggregated from 85 community reviews.
Woody, low-sweet Demerara, gentle at 40% Well liked as a woody, low-sweetness Demerara sipper. Most agree it's soft and easygoing; the recurring gripe is that 40% leaves it feeling thin for a 15-year-old.

Some call this new 15yo for “Nelson’s Blood”, but it’s definitely not the same. This one isn’t nearly as sweet as the “Nelson’s Blood” and there isn’t written “Nelson’s Blood” on the label either. Overall it’s a very good rum, but probably quite long from what a Navy rum tasted way back in time. I would say if you like the other rum in Pusser’s range you will also like this one. The same goes for if you like the El Dorado 12 or/and 15, but think they are a little too sweet.

Pleasing PM profile. Less sweetness than in some epigone DDL's.

#5013 31.12.2024 Enjoying a set of samples while cooking New Year Dinner. Nose Wood, round, light licorice, light roasted, plum, dried fruit, faint coffee, light chocolate. Palate Wood, light roasted, oily, light licorice, raisin, light caramel, light herbs, light tannins, faint honey, light orange, light chocolate. Finish Medium to long, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, faint cherry, light mint, light coffee, light licorice. The empty glass has nice prunes, nutts and light tobacco.

Clairement intéressant ce 15 ans. Il reprend la trame du black label, avec un peu moins de punch (45% auraient sûrement était mieux) mais se laisse siroter sans soucis, et loin de manquer de goût. Petite note mentholée en plus du black label. Assez cool.

I like it very much. Sweet red fruits stand out on the nose between toffee and wood. Nuts are added on the palate. This unusual cherry note remains on the finish. Compared to the similarly priced El Dorado 15 of the same age, the wood is less intrusive, but it also lacks a little body.

A very good rum, considering that it only has 40%. You can taste some chocolate in it. Goes down the throat very easily. Good that it has matured for 15 years. The finish is also very quick. I definitely recommend this rum

Unfortunately, not at all comparable to the old Nelson's blood. Here really missing the fruity banana and generally the fruity tones. Very woody

Much better and accessible than the standard Black Tot Release. Very long aftertaste.

Nice pleasant navy rum characterized by heavy Port Mourant (DDL) notes. Unfortunately, not quite as complex as its predecessor. In the smell a little more fruit and spice than in the taste, which is characterized by woody and slightly smoky aromas. The rum accompanies a fine and light sweetness, which accompanies the taste until the finish but does not interfere at any time.nice entry rum into the world of somewhat heavier rums. With its story about Admiral Nelson and the marketing as an original Royal Navy Rum really a great overall package, which is still okay in terms of price.

On the nose, I initially thought that the alcohol would probably cloud the experience somewhat, but then I was pleasantly surprised. On the palate, there is a sweetness at the very beginning, which then transforms into toffee and licorice. Pleasant woody notes.

Sweet coffee like mocha rum, spicy and typical guyanese rum. Demerara all around with typical burnt sugar and caramel aromas although it is a little bit mild and I like gunpowder proof more than this one. Medium long finish.
Review by ChristophFFM
Spicy, dark fruity, woody. Medium heavy. Slightly salty finish. Interesting, but not overwhelming.

Heute 3 Verkostet.

Very nice and balananced rum. There is a lot chocolate and vanila. You can drink it for shoots or mix in drinks.

If you pour a glass of this rum, the whole room will smell it. It has a very power menthol-like smell that you'll also find in the taste with notes of whisky. It's quite rounded with liquorice and anis taste.
Review by DruNierer
Very nice sipper, little bit of a tingle on the tongue neat, disappears on ice.

Read full review →It may not be quite as perfect as the Gunpowder proof but it is a very, very good rum. If you are looking for something with less sweetness, than say El Dorado 12 or 15 then you might wish to try this. I think most fans of Demerara rum will...
