Aroma visualization from community tastings
Silent Ambassador Clarendon Monymusk 2007
Opinion is genuinely split on this one. The nose wins people over — overripe pineapple, glue, nail polish, even a whiff of petrol — but the palate divides them. At full 64% it comes across dry, hot and austere, with citrus zest, apple and a medicinal, peppery edge. Several tasters call the alcohol poorly integrated; a few drops of water and a long rest help a lot.
The community says- Intense funky nose
- Overripe pineapple
- But: Hot, unintegrated

Review by Paul Christiaens
N: intense: glue, nailpolish hubba bubba chewing gum, something very heavy too, almost like petrol, or plaster or play-doh. It goes further on foamed banana candy and yellow fruit. Great nose, quite intense and complex at the same time. Both funky and deep. T. Drying and hot, even astringent. This is austere. Quite citric, the flesh, zest and pip. Still very funky and medicinal, glue and polish galore. A hint of the fruit. Still depth of pepper and bandage. F: harsh, even more glue-like, lemon. An austere, funky bottle. Unbalanced. The nose is actually quite nice, in the mouth it's beyond a beast.

Home tasting with Bram H Nose is less intense than the reduced ABV version. So assumingly i had higher expectations for the lower ABV. Tasting wise, this version is so much better. Fantastic rum. Smell aligns with taste and alcohol is very well integrated.

27.08.2022 Going through samples at home. Notes Fruity, faint wood, faint roasted, light citrus, faint floral, faint polish. Palate Light wood, fruity, overripe, pineapple, faint smoke, faint polish, faint anise. Finish Medium long, fruits, pineapple, light wood, light anise, light apple, faint chocolate. Extra note. Needs to rest for a long time or you add some water to settle the ABV.

Hard to profile the taste. Will come back to it some other time

A strange bitterness and alcohol isn't integrated very well. Citrus, wood, apple, herbal. Medium finish. The alcoholic taste combined with apple reminds me of calvados. It's something special you either hate it or love it. Beter then the last time I tasted this, bit still not my cup of rum.

Leider nicht überzeugend - sehr fruchtbetont und auch nach zwei Stunden im Glas noch mit sehr bissiger Alkoholnote. Eher schwacher Monymusk.
