One of the best Agricole’s I’ve tasted, but the weak nose makes me stop at 92. The finish is quite long and goes as on the palate. It’s a blend of some of the best vintages from the Longueteau house, that consists of 70% 8yo, 20% 9yo and 10% 10yo Rhum.

A pleasant blend, golden color with a remarkable nose of spices, dried fruits, and a light woodiness. On the palate, you clearly find these references in a complex but light rum with a slight salty and floral touch, however the finish is short.

This agricole I bought in Guadeloupe 2018 comes with a really nice bottle with looks great in every home bar. The nose starts with hay and wood and becomes more and more complex with fruits of dried apricots and figs and some minutes later candied sugar and fruits to that still wooden basis. The taste is very spicy and with many herbs. Some seconds later accompanied by fruity notes of dried plum and liquorice. The finish is not too long still with the dried plum and liquorice. A little bit salty too. Everything fits perfectly in this masterpiece of french-caribbean art of distilling.

On the nose enveloping and delicate with sweet dried fruits, a bit of wood, spices, delicate vanilla, a hint of leather and something vegetal. On the palate the vegetal side returns with more breadth along with peppery spices, dried fruits (dates and apricots) and others, a bit of background wood along with a sweet/floral note.

🥃 Longueteau XO – 42% Blend of agricole rums aged 8, 9 and 10 years, matured in oak casks that previously held Cognac. Presented in a superb decanter. Honestly, this is a very nice Longueteau. Nothing like some more anecdotal cuvées like Concerto / Symphonie… here, it plays in a different league. 👃 Spicy nose, dried fruits well present 👄 Elegant palate, with a very long and complex finish 🔥 A real step up that confirms Longueteau doesn't just do "white"
