8,4:On the nose, hints of soap, smoky, roasted wood notes like bacon, caramel, burnt sugar, cocoa, leather, roasted nuts, spicy, metallic patina, earthy molasses with tobacco, yellow and citrus fruits, bump into our nosetrils. Keine Ahnung was ich zu diesem Rum sagen soll. Ja, ist so. Jedenfalls ist er übelst torfig, wahrscheinlich peated, egal. Ich mag diesren Torfigen Sachen nicht, ist dann doch eher was für Whiskykenner, nix für mich.
Interessanter und guter Rum aus Panama, der in anderen Fässern als dem Whiskyfass sicherlich besser gereift wäre, auch wenn der Geschmack dezent ist. Von Nase bis Abgang viel Nuss, Holz und Karamell. Im Gaumen zusätzlich Kokosnuss und Butterscotch.
Interessante Abfüllung, die ich mal wegen des Finish testen wollte. Probiert in Dänemark am Strand, nicht ganz weit weg von der Stauning Distillery. Ich bin da mal gewesen und hab mir die Darren und Brennverfahren angeschaut. Daher ist es kaum überraschend, welchen Charakter diese Abfüllung mitbringt. Der Rum aus Panama bietet erstmal eine Menge Fläche und wenig eigene Highlights. Wenn man mal einen Stauning getrunken und dort gestanden und es einfach mal gerochen hat - findet man diese würzigen Noten des Heidekraut sofort wieder. Das finde ich sehr sympathisch, muss aber auch konstatieren - Rum mit Whisky Finish wird einfach nicht meins. Lieb gemeinte 83 Punkte. Und Daumen drücken für die Stauning Company - sind in Schieflage geraten. In der Nase Vanille und Fass, weiche Einflüsse von der Lagerung mit den ersten Noten des Whisky. Die kommen auf der Zunge so richtig zur Geltung, besonders die erwähnten Kräuternoten. Schmeckt eben nach Rum aus'm Whisky Fass.
