#6834 24.05.2026 Bike training is over for today so time to sit down and watch some crime on TV while enjoying a few samples. A pretty decent rum especially when looking at the price tag. Though this is a mixer rum, it is also OK as a sipper once rested. A well rounded profile with sugarcane, citrus, floral, fruits and light grass.

A good little white agricole rum, which evokes the path to redemption for Héritiers Madkaud, a brand that almost disappeared and is trying to rebuild its reputation with a new range. This first cuvée is a fairly soft nose, carried by vegetal and floral aromas, sugarcane and earthy notes. One also distinguishes a slight spicy and fruity veil that shows some aromas try to free themselves, in vain. The attack on the palate is quite lively, with notes of citrus and sugarcane, followed by floral, vegetal and earthy flavors that reappear, unsurprisingly. Some spices stimulate the palate. A very agricultural and conventional ensemble nonetheless. The finish, of medium length, does not deviate from the rule and is clear, dry and incisive on vegetal notes of sugarcane, herbs and flowers. A very classic rum, which deserves attention and will surely refine over the course of the cuvées.
